The Orinoco Wireless Cards

True or False?

Do the orinoco proxim wireless cards have an external antena port on them? Specifically, does this one have it. I had read somewhere that the orinoco cards did, but I'm not 100% sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Proxim/Orinoco combo cards such as this do not have external antenna jacks. The classic cards do, but not these.

I almost have that same exact Proxim Orinoco Gold card, but it's B only, no G... and it does have the jack. It's a dead ringer for that card, minus the 54mbit...

That would be correct, the card he's referring to is a combo card, combo cards do NOT have the external antenna jack.

I'm changing my answer to, No, I don't think so. After some quick searching I think there is not a jack.

Also on this thread, a dude said he bought that exact card and it does not have one.

I preciate all the help guys. So it looks like only the classic cards will have an antena port? Any other cards have ext. antena ports?

It does not have an External Antenna.

It is a/b/g combo, thus working in two transmitting frequency, and have a more complicated output circuit than a b/g that works only at 2.4GHz.

My two cents:

This card comes in two variants like said before, classics have the MMC conntectors on them. however, there are the proxoim models that have them as well.
