What's wrong with dandelions? I say leave em. Mow 'em down every once in a while, but mostly try to do something more interesting than worrying about your lawn.

Not really worried about it TBH. I pull them out manually but if my lawn got THAT bad I'd say screw it. :D I see it as a challenge, and actually enjoy it. I don't obsess over it like some people do though.

what's the issue?

I'd leave that field natural. Doesn't look like it's used anyway.

If you have pets and kids then grass makes a much better ground cover than weeds, or mud.

That's actually the school yard in front of me and not mine, and yeah I don't think they treat it, no point. They do mow it every now and then though.

When I was a kid our neighbor had a lawn that looked worse. It had orange flowers and stuff too. it actually kinda looked like a flower bed. Birds would build their nests in there and everything.

I've been meaning to try cooking with dandelions ever since I saw a show about an island in Greece where everyone lives to be 100, and they mentioned they use dandelions in their food regularly.

Apparently it's one of the most vitamin and antioxidant rich plants you can eat.

I don't know why that's so hard for some people to understand. Who the hell wants a yard of full of weeds?

I heard that too actually. You can also use the leaves for salad, it's better to use them before the flower comes out. The roots also apparently can cure cancer, though I don't know if it's actually been tested/proven.

If ever I feel brave I might try a dandelion salad. :D It's a very abundant plant, may as well try to find uses for it LOL.

Sounds nice - you must have a beautiful yard D:

Honestly? It looks about as good as my neighbor's yard, and he's always walking around spreading fertilizer and seed and whatever else you put on grass to make it grow. Difference is that I spend an hour on it per week while he's messing around out there every day.

We hand a dandelion explosion earlier this spring. Suddenly the entire lawn was covered and soon after all gone again. Like dandelion cicadas.
