The only reason Andy Rooney still has a career . . .

is that nobody at CBS wants to hurt his feelings.

Andy Rooney was a dull, blathering curmudgeon when I was a kid in the '70s, and he's even worse now. It's obvious that CBS doesn't feel it can put him out to pasture, and he won't do it himself. This Mexican standoff means that he will continue to annoy me until he's six feet under. Ah well, at least he's old . . .

I think they did fired him once only to see their ratings dropped, so they had to bring him back.

Anyone who entertains any doubt about whether or not he has a sense of humor only needs to watch his interview by Ali G - he came off as a completely humorless old crank.

I think that he's around on 60 minutes for the same reason that John Dvorak is still a tech reporter. People think that they still have some wise things to say just because they're old.

Sorry folks, but old age causes senility and dementia as well.

That arranged can be. :D

J/k I don't condone the killing of annoying people. Just slow torture until they off themself. ;)

Sometimes I watch 60 Minutes for an interesting investigative piece, but I always change the channel when he comes on.

I've been saying this for awhile. I've never understood why he's on TV. He gets paid to essentially do what a lot of old men do for free at the local senior center, bitch about random, meaningless things.

<Andy Rooney Voice>You ever wonder why I suck so much?</Andy Rooney Voice>

I thought it was because the target demographic of 60 minutes was the cantankerous old fvcks that think just like Andy Rooney, and consider him a hero of the media.

He's never been fired. He's one of the more respected people at CBS. Don't worry though- he can't live much longer :)
