I guess, if I am going to get my head right in Obamas world, I am going to have to start smoking weed, cause I know that I can't do it sober.

as long as people vote D or R, nothing is going to change.

Yeah... I'm afraid that we're going to need to put up with a few more years of gridlock and overall decline as a nation before people get mad enough to stop voting for the parties who put us into this mess.

I know this, we all know this. Now how did the healthcare bill stop it?
It didnt.

crackd the door for universal healthcare. economies of scale, single payer bargaining.

Need to see some mayo clinic style provider compensation.

But its a complicated situation and I sure as hell don't have many, if any, of the real answers. But doing nothing or just doing lawsuit liability reform is silly.

None of that will lower our "costs". It only shifts who is paying for it.

The President was basically begging Congress to just get along so something can be accomplished. It was sort of pathetic that our President needs to do that. I say lets see what the Republicans do with this year. I'm positive it will remain the party of no, but lets just see what little class this country might have left.

LOL

The party that couldn't stop anything? that's who's to blame....

I don't want any more increments. The course needs to be reversed, not changed.

if drugs are cheaper, costs are lowered.

if compensation is lower, costs are lowered.

taking out some of the insurance middlemen will lower costs.

But yea, its not going to bring it down to value menu costs, but shifting it can make it more manageable. You can't force insurance companies to ignore pre-ex unless you offset the high cost people with money from the young people who sit outside the system.

Right now the insurance model sucks for small businesses, i know many people who just can't consider working for anyone except the huge corporations because that is the only way to get insurance.

WHEN! When did Obama look you in the eye America? Or was his chin held high as he moved from prompter to prompter.

When did he look you in the eye America? DO NOT TRUST

Was the bill going to allow prescription drug imports or are you proposing price controls? Look through our history and tell us how well price controls have performed in the real world.

Anyways this isnt the thread to get into this debate. Lets just say the current bill will do little to reduce the "costs" of the system imo.
