I don't think any of the new bundles have Kinect in them.

I was kind of worried about the 500GB hard drive, especially being non-replaceable. But I've got Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Forza, Battlefield, Madden, Fifa, a smattering of smaller indie games and some apps and still have 200+GB left, so it's much less of a concern than I thought. ask me again in two years I suppose.
The other thing is that you will be able to plug in usb 3.0 external HDDs eventually. I have a HDD dock that can do USB 3.0 so I will make use of that when the time comes. That is, if you can use it for installs. Not as fast as native sata for sure, but if I need space I'll just do that.

I kind of like the white XB1 and would buy it with sunset overdrive if the kinect also came in white. Since it doesn't... It seems not worth the hassle of swapping them out and selling my black one. I would at least like things to match (white console with white kinect). I was also pondering the white ps4 destiny bundle but I am buying the ghost edition anyhow and I am sure the game that is bundled will be digital and I would have to try selling the code which is a hassle too.

I know you can do external drives, it's just a bit of a hassle. As far as the speed, the drive in the X1 is SATA2 and a hard drive so you're probably not getting more that 1500-2000Mbps. USB3 can do 5000Mbps, right? I'd imagine a spindle drive in an external enclosure would deliver the exact same speed as the internal drive and you could even do a external SSD which might be faster.

But yeah, you can do installs to it and use it as your primary storage device or whatever. I don't think the X1 differentiates between drives like that.

I would rather be able to swap the internal HDD too but on the xb1 we can't. Which really makes no sense to me. The ps3 offered that, now the ps4 does. It isn't like before when MS would sell a HDD in a special enclosure and connector. They simply locked you out now unless you void the warranty and even then I don't think there is a way on the xb1 to format a new internal drive.

Wow, that's a terrible bundle than - the COD $500 one.

With external HDD support there is no reason to need an internal 1TB Drive.

$500 beans for game+console+Paintjob+1TB is stupid. Why I wasn't sure if it brought Kinect, I just assumed it did for the price.

SO Bundle is the better deal, hands down.

I guess that depends on a few things. For starters, I can't stand the white console, so it eliminates the potential for buying that bundle. The Advanced Warfare skin (console and controller) looks pretty neat. Also, I think people are more likely to keep CoD for an extended period of time than Sunset Overdrive, so I would rather have the former digitally and the latter physically than the opposite. Lastly, you get the HDD increase with the CoD option. Matching the drive size on the white console means a $50 (roughly) external.

So, the CoD bundle is probably $50 more than the SO one, in reality. Given that I'd like to be able to trade Sunset Overdrive in more than Call of Duty, there's money recouped in the ability to trade SO, if I wanted both games (one with the bundle, other purchased physically). SO would probably trade in for $25 or so by the time I was done with it, meaning we're now talking a $25 difference between the bundles.

I'd spend the extra $25 to not have a console I hated the look of, so I personally think it balances out OK. However, if you like the white and want to keep SO permanently, it's a better deal by far.

Not a way yet, but I'm sure someone will figure it out. It will end up just like the Xbox 360 and you will need a specific drive and have to flash a specific firmware to it. I did this for ever HDD upgrade on my 360 until I bought the slim.

It's already been figured out. And in the process of doing it, your warranty is void.

Only Microsoft could fix this and it will require a hardware revision. So until then, peeps just use the external storage option.

Subjectiveness of appearance aside (duh the one that looks nicer to you would have a higher value), but for what you get in the box, that sticker shock is gonna kick in.

People who are buying a bundle aren't specifically looking for a resale value (ie I can sell this game off) but more so the contents. The average person would just see a 1TB $500 console with a game versus a 500GB $400 console with a game. Just why I assumed that the CoD bundle included the Kinect. The games would retail for the same dollar value, but now it's a $100 difference for 500GB space difference. Or, a CoD tax.

EDIT: A quick look at the bundles, are they both digital copies? Seems that way from the wording.

Yeah I think they are digital.

I have someone willing to buy my xb1 when sunset overdrive comes out and that enables me to buy the white console with the game.

You can ask you mom, I've given her plenty of 'em. >_<

He is saying "XBONE" but shortening it even more. It reminds me a lot of those Samsung commercials attempting to make fun of the iPhone and it just comes off as pathetic.

Ehh, it's not really trying to make fun of it. I have and like my One, I just interchangeably use "One" and "Bone" when discussing it. I liked the "XBone" nickname, at least it was semi-clever.

It really isn't that clever. It is about as clever as "crapple" being used instead of Apple. It reminds me of something a 14 year old would use.

Holy crap, dis guy. haha. 🙂

You take things far too serious. 😀

I am about to pull the trigger on this Xbox one on craigslist. It costs $250 with everything but Kinect. It comes with hard copies of titanfall, cod ghosts, and tomb raider. Is that a great deal? Should I wait for black friday? Don't care about the games that much since I have them all on PC. Maybe resell them on ebay and buy a kinect with them.

That sounds like a pretty darn good deal as long as the condition is good and it hasn't been banned or something.

How do I check if it has been banned? Just check if it connects to live? Was going to bring my hotspot with me and a computer monitor to check it out.

Yeah, if you can login to Live successfully then it's not banned. At least that's how the 360 works, I don't have a One.

BF still a few months away. The price of the system will likely not drop, you'll probably just have some extra goodies, like a couple free games or a controller or something.

Presuming you don't care about Kinect at all and won't spend $100 in six months to buy one, then you can get the console for $250 and probably trade those games in for (maybe) $30 in credit. So $220 for the X1? Seems like a great deal as long as the console is in good shape.

PS: If you don't care about the games, I'd be willing to buy a couple of them from you, provided they're in original cases in good condition. I'd give you $15 shipped for Tomb Raider, I've been eyeing it recently. $20 shipped for both TR and CoD: Ghosts (mainly because I really don't care about CoD but am a little curious).

i'd give you $20 shipped for tomb raider 😛

(and yes i'm serious).

played it on 360, but i'd go through that game again on the x1. or i'd trade you straight up nfs:rivals for it if you get it. or i'd trade nfs:rivals for cod.
