Holy smokes this download is slow. It doesn't seem to be impacting my downstream bandwidth at all, just moving super slow.

I've played a few matches now and I really enjoy the game even though I find myself significantly better as a pilot without the titan. I'm looking forward to spending some time on the other game modes. I understand why they refrained from making the environment destructive though I think it takes away from the game a bit now that I'm used to it from other games.

Same here. It's a LOT of fun. Makes me think of more old-school, frenetic FPS titles like UT or Q2. I love the game speed and how the combat switches so fast from pursue to flee (when Titans show up). :)

Love it.

Put in just a few matches last night in Attrition (i.e. team deathmatch). Graphically, the game isn't as impressive as you'd expect but it does run buttery smooth, so all is well. You can tell the former CoD guys made this, as it has that same feel in movement and game style, only faster.

Wall running and jumping is smooth and controls almost too easily. I was expecting a learning curve going in but the tutorial at the beginning of the beta is straight to the point and is easy to get through. Everything just works, you don't have to think about it...that's awesome.

The 6v6 doesn't feel like it with all the AI bots playing, however I'm torn about these bots. They literally stand around and group up, crouch in the middle of the street, whatever they can do to make them the easiest kill possible. It seems as if one shot kills them, also. They are more of a distraction. However, with that said, they do make you feel like a bad-ass when you kill a bunch of them and they make the battlefield feel much more alive. There's always something to shoot at.

The titans themselves are interesting and break up the monotony of running around on foot. I was really surprised at how many titans they let you have on a map at once, I believe I saw 6 duking it out once. I feel, though, that in a titan versus titan battle, it's whomever gets the drop first. There's not a ton of room to maneuver, maybe I just need to use the dash better.

Overall, the game is fun. It's nice seeing you had 25 kills for a match and only 5 deaths, even if only 5 of those kills were against actual players. :)

I was playing a couple games last night as well and I didn't seem to actually get the kills for when I killed bots, only titans and pilots. Maybe it was just the game modes I was playing? Also the controls are pretty smooth but I feel like if you eject from your titan in certain situations you're absolutely going to die. Now, I seem to do better walking around as the pilot and picking people off as I go. When I get into a titan fight I've lost every time, and when I watch the killcam the titan I shot 25 times still has shields and plenty of health, and mine reaches the "doomed" state fairly easy even if I'm dashing and using the reflective shield. I'm sure it's just me being a noob and I'll learn it better as I play more. All in all I like the game a lot even though I'm pretty bad at it right now. Also the simplicity of wall running gets in the way sometimes.
Example: I was sprinting towards an objective point on a map and you have to jump through a doorway to get there, I tried sprinting towards the doorway and just jumping through it but my character jumps too high and I wind up wallrunning around the door 3 times before I actually made it through. That's my only real issue so far.

Yeah, this seems like all of the complaints I'll have are the ones I would expect. CoD's never been known for massive maps as it is, and with the bigger ones, they usually had HUGE shooting lanes for snipers. With Titanfall, I expected that we'd see too many Titans and watch the small maps get cramped quickly, once a few Titans got called in.

From the sound of it, the maps needed to be bigger. Since the A.I. is constantly getting blown away, there's a lot of action, which sounds nice. However, when you throw in the Titans, it just seems like the game would get frustrating to navigate (even with the vertical movement). I'd rather see the maps opened up, maybe 50% bigger. That way, there's more horizontal movement. The Titans don't take up the whole map with their brawls. You don't get constant free kills from A.I. pilots.

The alternative would be to limit the amount of active Titans. They could increase the Titan timer to 5 minutes, while making kills lower it faster, to try to get the better players into Titans quickly, then have the lesser ones following as Titans start to go down. They could have also considered the option to have Titans spawn 2 at a time, with the ability to rotate who the designated team pilot is each time.

The maps are usually my top complaint with shooters nowadays, and I have a feeling that will continue with this game.

The Titanfall beta is now open to all. It should be on the home screen. If not, go to the store/demos area to download it.

At first, I was losing and dying in my titan everytime, but I've been beasting with them lately and finally got one of those kills where you pull the pilot out and launch him a mile away.. that was very satisfying. The more you play the better you'll get, and I love the cod arcadey feel. Can't wait to use all of the titans in the full game.

Titanfall is so very fun. I haven't had this much fun with a FPS probably since Halo 2.

The 6v6 design decision seems to be spot on. This game would not be more enjoyable with more people.

After some good time with Titanfall, I really feel it does what it should do. It is a "mindless" shooter and is fun. It has some scifi elements and still the run and gun feel. The movement is pretty good. I don't like the melee being so strong (I mean come on, a jump kick can kill me...), but I still had a ton of fun.

Tried to get in on the pc beta but it said they had a max amount of users already. Guess I'll just have to watch videos now.

Edit: finally got in on the pc. To be honest I'm enjoying it a lot !

Looks like my origin account was hacked. I've been playing bf4 on ps4 and haven't logged into the pc on origin in a while. Got a new password but realized my security question and country of origin was changed. I hope that if I have to get a new origin account I don't loose all my levels on bf4 on the ps4.

And that's the #1 reason I don't like Origin. Three of my friends also had their Origin accounts hacked so they've since neglected to ever buy anything off Origin again. I don't blame them. Luckily, my account has yet to be hacked, and I hope it never does!
