Titanfall: Why 6 vs 6 is Fine, a nine minute section of the podcast, where they talk about Titanfall.

They talked about Titanfall's maximum player count of 12 on Podcast Unlocked (IGN's Xbox podcast). Each of the panel members had spent a few hours with the game, and they all said that the 6 vs 6 system works extremely well.

Personally, I think the whole "bigger is better" mentality isn't 100% accurate when it comes to games, particularly with player count. It depends much more on how the game is developed with player cound in mind. Over my decades of gaming, I have had the most fun with FPS' that have had (relatively) smaller player counts.

I watched that before and it still says nothing other than its awesome to play which of course is always what's important but the maps plainly support the large amount of players and populate it with canon fodder instead of other real players. If 6v6 was perfect, why are they filling it up with bots? Just leave it 6v6, not 6v6 with 40 bots. That's just what I'm wondering.

I still don't think the other "bots" will have Titans, which makes sense to me. It wouldn't be realistic IMO if there were tons of Titans and no one on foot or in other vehicles.

The very first thing they do is equate the AI to creeps in Dota... End of discussion.

6v6 is not a problem; "bots" are not a problem.

Which means the AI is there only to spend your ammo on(by killing them) and not adding any benefit to you?

There is plenty of benefit to them, at least in Dota. They exist to level the players, provide currency, and serve a purpose in attacking the towers / pushing the lanes. How that will happen in Titanfall remains to be seen, but certainly not some huge detriment.

In one of the videos I saw they explained that the bots are there so that people who aren't very good at FPS and/or are having problems killing other human players can still get kills. Apparently, you need to rack up kills in order to be able to call down Titans, I think.

From the videos I saw, it was something like 3 kills for a Titan call down. If the AI is there to be "farmed", then it is very much like Dota creeps. I would imagine that "feature" could be turned off, making the entire "omg it has AI, therefore can't be competitive" stuff pretty moot.

I like what I've seen so far and will be checking it out more. I think the jetpacks and "bouncing" off walls looks good, and I love mechs. It is all going to come down to level design and how fun it is.

You make it sound like titans = killstreaks calling in a chopper. I dont think it will be quite like that but is a similar idea.

Did they really say that it is for people who aren't good to have a chance in the game? I made that idea up as a joke in a previous post and didn't think it was even the case.

I worried it might sound like that but I think it's less like a killstreak since you can probably die during the period in which you're trying to get a Titan calldown.

Yeah, I saw that post and was going to respond directly to it but then forgot. I'm pretty sure that they did actually use similar wording regarding people who aren't as effective at acquiring kills.

It basically is a killstreak, you get rewarded for getting kills. Its the same people who did cod 4 isn't it? 3-5-7 kill steaks

I don't think we know all the mechanics yet. It looks like a kill streak (possibly, kills give you some kind of XP and when the meter fills, you get your mech. The meter can go up over time slowly as well), but who knows at this point.

Why the hell is the Xbox One 550-650 everywhere? It costs $500!!! I understand price gauging by individual people, but businesses? Is that even legal? Microsoft is overpricing this console too...

Same is going on with PS4.

When will the PS4 be $400 and Xbox One $500 like they should be?
