Lol, I love people that say stuff like this. Yes, every single media outlet out there, most of which I don't see any Titanfall stuff on front pages, is in on this big cosnpiracy to build this game up. It couldn't possibly be that good that these people, that are gamers by the way, are just excited for it. Give me a break, if this was a game that you were actually interested in, your tone would be a little different.
.

IGN admitted they are paid by EA but claim it doesn't affect their judgement.

So yeah EA is paying for ad space and to keep the hype going, activision does the same for CoD. That's what marketing is for.

And that same exact site had a game come in a few months back that one of the Sony guys played for the entire week and gushed about it on the site, and yet when the review came out he gave it like a 7.5. Everything isn't as cut and dry as some people like to make it, and just because sites get ad revenue, that doesn't automatically get your game a 10.

I didn't say it gives good reviews but it increases the hype. Keeps it in the news.

Would love to use one of those but there's no way I can justify that much money for one.

while $200 is a lot, it really is not "expensive" in the sense they are ripping you off. the parts alone would run you more than $200 if you were to build it yourself.

wired x1 controller - $75
sanwa jlf - $30
sanwa buttons - $35

that is $135 without the case, plexiglass, art, metal sheet that holds the buttons, the led lighting, wiring, etc. so in reality, $200 really isn't a ripoff or anything, the things are just expensive in general.

the case i have for my balrog stick i built was given to me by someone who was selling them for $120 a pop easily - that is JUST the wooden case for it. he gave it to me because i did 2 of his java assignments lol. he even made it a custom layout i wanted.

I made my first arcade stick cab (well, I helped my dad make it) based one I borrowed from a friend lol. I can't remember how much my friend paid for his though. I'm sure it was around the price of the TE though.

I got my current stick for around $160 and the mod cost me a further $50 or so. I don't have the hinged top and nice wiring harness like the KI stick though.

I knew it was big, but...

Hopefully they come out with a slim version.

Its so nice to come back to this comfy thread after spending part of the day at neogaf. Its like coming from a cesspool of death to a picnic by the lake, everyone is so nice and civil here. 🙂 Thanks guys!
I can jump back down off the ledge and consider keeping my XB1 pre-order again, thanks to you.

I don't understand how the hype is manufactured. The game is being made by the studio who created THE FPS of the current generation.

^ the founders of Infinity Ward, and talent behind COD4, actually left because of that very reason. they didn't want to keep making the same game anymore. Infinity Ward post-Modern Warfare 2 is not the same team.

isnt that part of the hype behind titanfall? that it has devs from the better cod games?

I think part of the hype is also that it's a lot different... sort of. It's really more of a mash-up from different games, but it seems people really want Call of Duty with Gundams and Tribes jetpacks. 😛

yeah it is the first FPS in years that has me intrigued because it is actually different.

well i shouldn't say the first, im going through far cry 3 right now and it's incredible. if they have a far cry 4 on next gen i'm getting it day 1.
