if i could get xbox1 for $499.99, or get xbox1 with madden for $500.00, i would save the penny and get it without it.

but there is absolutely not a chance they will pack in madden in the us markets. that game is by far the #1 selling sports game, and that is way too much lost money if they packed it in.

After a month or two aren't sport games a lot less expensive? I always notice sports games to be the ones that drop prices first.

I recall seeing a promo to get Madden 25 in some kind of offer somewhere, but I can't recall where. I don't believe it was gaming related though.

And... link blocked of course. =(

Here you go.

We recently got a chance to speak to Double Helix Games lead producer Michael Willette and design director David Verfaillie who are working on the upcoming Killer Instinct about the benefit of working on the Xbox One. The Xbox One has a ton of memory in the form of 8GB DDR3 RAM, so we asked them about how the team benefits from it, to which they replied, “Higher resolution textures, dynamic high quality music, and robust screen/ particle effects are just a few things that we are able to do with all of the glorious memory.”
Last week we had reported the benefits of the Hypervisor in the Xbox One and how no one is actually talking about it. You can read about it over here.
Based on that article, we also asked their take on the memory and CPU cores being reserved for the OS and how the potential of the Hypervisor and game systems would be utilized. “The ability to snap in other videos or content while you play KI is awesome. Imagine waiting in a lobby for your match to start while you read through a gamefaq on some combos you want to practice during the match.”
Killer Instinct will be a reboot and the first game in the series to release in 17 years and will be a launch title for the Xbox One.
Stay tuned for more news and updates.

Just because they are not using "bleeding edge top of the line technology" in their hardware doesn't mean they aren't doing something fancy in the code. The team engineering this isn't just a bunch of code monkeys who don't know their stuff.

Well...that's debatable.... 🙂 But I suppose if Virtu can make your GPU faster (when it works), anything is possible.

That's an initiative to get people to buy the Xbox one which I think MS cut some deal with gamestop. Because if I had a 360 and was getting an x1 anyway this deal would be kind of pointless. Pay $63 bucks for the game then an extra 10 to have the new platform edition after giving it back. I think there is a time frame though, within 30 days or so.

Before Dec 31 and it's not pointless. Madden comes out on the 27th of this month. You can play it for 2-3 months and then get the new one with the better graphics and whatnot when you get the new console for $10. A lot of people do Madden leagues etc so they wouldn't have to miss out for those couple of months.

I only mentioned it as that is the only deal I can find that includes Madden. I have not seen any mention of getting it free with any console.

Yeah I had not realized madden came out sooner. Usually I've seen bundles at sams club with sport games but that's usually a long time after release. The only game I ever got that was free with a console was Sega rally gt with the original Xbox.

The only other deals with Madden 25 are the ones with Amazon and getting the $100 dollar edition. For the anniversary edition you get NFL Sunday ticket for mobile devices which isn't bad at all if you want the game and need Sunday ticket.

To note, Microsoft's event at Gamescom will be happening at 1 AM PST tomorrow. They're supposed to be announcing a new, exclusive game. The rumor is that it will be a new Fable game as Microsoft has already registered a related domain.

EDIT:

Also, I thought this new Dead Rising 3 CG video was pretty nifty. It kind of made me want the game. :$

There will not be a live stream for the event for anyone that is wondering.

"Most of the time will be spent with the press getting time with the developers and their games. You should think about this as a room with a lot of hands-on.”

“The nice thing about the way the showcase is shaping up is people at home will have access to it. Streaming is probably not the way to do it because it will be like watching a party that you’re not at,” Spencer said, adding, “So what we’re going to do is, throughout the day, we’re going to take video snippets from the floor and release them on the Xbox Wire.
lol

Like most things Xbox related with Microsoft, it is locked behind a pay wall.

Meh fable lol...

That was a decent video tho. I still don't care about the game much but it was entertaining to watch.

If they are putting Fifa in the UK markets then Madden in the US would be about the same. Fifa is the #1 selling sports game in the UK by millions of copies. Either way guess we will find out soon enough.

Or, they will just come out and say "Hey, it's gonna suck! We're not gonna Molyneux you."

I guess it's kind of hard to tell because we don't really know who made some of the design choices. I mean... it's pretty easy to look at the transition between Fable 2 and Fable 3 and recognize what really shouldn't have changed. Although, a lot of the added stuff related to some of the junk that Molyneux pushed, and in my opinion, almost all of it was junk. The only thing that Fable 3 added that was better than Fable 2 was proper co-op play.

Also, with the transition to a new console, hopefully we'll be able to avoid all the performance issues that plagued the latter Fable games. Speaking of that, I'm actually curious to see how the Fable Anniversary Edition plays on the 360.

Microsoft's Gamescon press event is going on now. Lots of stuff being announced:

- Fable Legends: 4-player online-only co-op game. CG trailer released, looks to me like it's in the vein of Gauntlet Legends/Diablo 3.
- Indie developers: no fees, free development kits, self-publishing, full access to the X1 hardware, achievements, etc.
- Free FIFA 14 included within Euro X1 pre-orders.
- CoD Ghosts: dedicated servers on X1, exclusive DLC, launch bundle?

Did they give a release date ? Pretty cool that the euro bundles will have fifa 14. The US bundles should also include madden.

Other countries that had expected to see the One this year will instead be getting it "as soon as possible in 2014," including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland. It was previously confirmed that Japan wouldn't see the console until next year.

No release date announced, I'd imagine they're waiting to see what Sony does. I'd love to see a US bundled game as well, but I'm not holding my breath. Bundling FIFA in Europe has very obvious intentions, it's a solid move.
