Does anyone here have the Xbox One stereo headset? It is on sale at amazon for 49, I think I might buy it

Given that the person telling you not to get it CLEARLY has no experience with it, I'd ignore him entirely, especially when he then follows it up by bashing the Kinect and Microsoft as a whole.

People on CAG are thrilled at the $50 price tag on the headset, so it must be SOMEWHAT decent. They've also said it works on PS4 as well, in case you own both consoles and want a cross-platform headset.

I'd personally pass on it because I was told it would need a splitter to maybe work on PC (no one I asked had tried it, so IDK if it even works), so I am fine waiting for a decent headset to use on Bone and PC, like I did with my TB X11 headset.

I'm not expecting anything high end, just something to use when I don't want to have my receiver and speakers blaring and will serve as a headset to talk on xbl. I read some more about it, it seems to be pretty decent. There are a few used on amazon for a little cheaper, I will probably order. I also don't PC game so it will only be used on my One

The only reason I would pass on the stereo headset is because I know they are going to eventually release a wireless headset, which is what I'd buy. I loved the couple I had for the 360, and one for the Xbox One is just a certainty.

A wireless would be nice but this one would be good enough for me since the only cord hooks into the bottom of the controller where the adapter is and I would have my controller in my hands anyway when using the headset

you can use the MS headset adapter along with an inexpensive wire that combines the mic and audio cables into one plug. then any headset that works on PC can work on xb1. this is how I use my sennheisers

Got a link to that adapter? I have a friend with a PC headset that a mic cable and an audio cable, he would like to use it with the adapter

I ended up getting the Xbox One stereo headset just now on ebay for 38 bucks and it came with the adapter but I already have one from a one bundle I bought. I can sell one of them though

I personally refuse to touch that adapter. I know it serves a purpose and all, but $25 to use the headset I already own annoys me. I'm admittedly a bit on the cheap and stubborn side with such things. After charging $500 and forcing the Kinect on early adopters, they could have at least done such people a solid and offered the adapter with the console, ESPECIALLY with how they upped the controllers $10 and the Play & Charge $5 this generation.

So yeah, I'm rather cheap and bitter about such things. I'd rather just wait for a nice Turtle Beach that'll be PC-compatible, rather than spend $25 to use a lesser-quality headset now, only to then STILL buy a nicer one in a year or so. I'm fine with the included headset for the time being.

Anyone else have a problem with spartan assault? I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago and now all I get is the opening screen then it goes black and stays that way frozen. I tried Uninstaller it and installing. Nothing seems to work.

I did not have that problem. I just played it a bit last night.

Sounds like you might need a hard reboot of you Xbox. There is a memory leak that causes issues on occasion. A hard reboot (turning completely off, not just standby) should fix it, if that is the issue.

thanks, worked perfectly. I always forget turning it off just puts it in standby mode and I need to actually unplug it.

after nearly 3/4 a year since launch, we still don't have any word on an official wireless headset for the xbox1?

Microsoft needs to take a page out of Sony's book and do something similar to the Sony Wireless Headset (now called Gold for ps4 iirc) for the ps3. It was wireless, sturdy, good mic, individual volume sliders for mic/game volume, virtual surround that worked like a charm, and was under $100. I still have mine and it gets passed around from room to room as needed (as you know we have 5 PS3's so sometimes someone needs the headset when nobody is using it).

I know, I know...Sony fanboy....*sigh* heh

I'm waiting for their newer ps4 headset. I noticed it on the e3 app on the ps4. It looks pretty decent too. But then again I don't really need one where I live.

I'll admit I'm being lazy/forgetful but are there any adapters to use my Plantronics Gamecon PC usb headset on my Xbox One? Obviously some sort of a usb to 3.5mm adapter if that exists. Think I have a couple like the ones that came with my keyboard. I know I'll lose the virtual surround sound though unfortunately. Thinking since I have a PS4 as well I may just get the Gold Wireless headset as Bestbuy is supposed to have it for $69.99 here soon.

I have never seen an adapter for that. Sony updated firmware so usb headsets could work, I wonder of MS could do the same somehow.
