You can buy cars in nba2k14 ?

nah, just saying... you can buy vc's to upgrade your myplayer if you don't want to earn them by playing. If someone wants their myplayer to be a beast right away, they do have an option.

I'm sure they will, I stopped caring about that series after they pulled that crap with 5. It was delayed so many times, yet they couldn't find the time to update those cars?

Seriously, I was a huge GT fan until 5. After 5 I became a Forza fan. All that development time and we got a worse product. I had gotten every GT game through 5, I'm not getting 6 at all.

I saw that it sold under 300k units in the US, so I am guessing that a lot of people are the same way.

And even still... If the game contains 1200 cars, they aren't truly unique vehicles. You get 25 versions of essentially the same car.

I mean, I'm not even sure what cars are "missing" from Forza 5 that anyone would actually miss. (Except Porsches, of course... But that's for an entirely different reason.)

This is the kind of stuff I don't like reading, because joe blow on a message board has no idea what they had to do to get the game ready. If they did cut those tracks on purpose to make money later, than shame on them. But acting like any of us know whether they actually cut stuff out to charge later is a mistake on our part, because we aren't in the dev offices seeing what kind of crunches they are working in.

I read about what they did to get the game ready, but it doesn't make it OK. It's more a statement of "we were rushed" than "we needed to do this."

I'm not saying that they cut things TO sell them back, but the idea that they might have cut things, but WILL sell them back, bothers me. They said that they didn't consider their mapping of Nurburgring to be good-enough for Forza 5, but they didn't rule out bringing it into the game later. That's obviously not going to come for free, so that simple thought that they might do this turns me off.

Realistically, I probably wouldn't even consider a One until Christmas, and Forza 5 will have moved out of my realm of interests by then. If I see that they don't go overboard with the DLC costs on Forza 5, it might convince me to get Forza 6, but there's also a degree to which I'm just bored with sim racers.

NFS: Rivals, despite my hatred of EA, was the only launch game on the One that intrigued me. Giving me something different to do in racing (while not presenting it in a garbage package, like many launch games did) intrigued me. I'd say that NFS is the series I've missed most since boycotting EA (though the games I've missed out on have been panned, for the most part). I miss having a good, fun racer from the arcade side, like the original Most Wanted and Carbon.

So they weren't satisfied with the track scan and held it out. What's the problem with that? The game has been out for almost two months and they haven't done any track packs. To me, that seems like they weren't sitting on anything just to get more money. At least they had the guts to cut stuff that wasn't working. I commend them for that. They could have just gone gran turismo on us and imported last gen stuff.

Yeah, it's been two months. I never said that I thought they were withholding content, just that I didn't like that they cut the content so severely. Given the way Achievements worked on the Xbox 360, it would annoy me if I got the game, then had them release a Nurburgring (or general track) DLC, and had it auto-tagged to the profiles of ALL Forza 5 players. Regardless of whether or not they withheld content, I'd feel slighted if they brought content back as DLC, for whatever reason. I'd rather see the game delayed 6 months than release as an inferior product to its predecessor, in terms of content quantity (and it wouldn't make sense to call Forza 5 better-quality than Forza 4, and just leave that as the only defense)/

The whole problem is that I don't like that SO MUCH content was taken away. I mean, 60% of the cars and about 50% of the tracks? No improvement in visuals is going to make up for that, in my opinion. It's like how BF4 released with a 4-hour campaign, and Ghosts came with a slightly-longer one (rated as about 4.5 hours). However, the Forza scenario is worse, seeing as the campaign isn't the meat and potatoes of the BF and CoD titles, while the cars and tracks ARE where you get the vast majority of replay value with Forza.

As a whole, it just seemed like the Xbox One exclusives were all rushed. Dead Rising 3 probably got hit the hardest for this (and rightfully so), but Forza's content and graphical cuts (post-E3) were pretty bad as well, in my opinion. I don't question the quality of the gameplay, I'm sure it's as good as ever, I just don't think that it's improved enough to where I'd feel like I got a reasonable deal for $60, when the quantity fell off so greatly.

I'd probably consider picking it up for $25-30 used, but $60 seems like a rip-off to me.

I got my forza 5 for $40 new at best buy and I'm happy with the game. I'm by no means a hard core car guy but I'd rather play this then NFS that arcade racer style is old and gives me motion sickness with all the blur that's involved

I'm not a big car person either. However, I haven't purchased a NFS game since 2006's Carbon, and its follow-up, ProStreet, is the last game of the series I played at all. However, I've played plenty of Forza, though only 2 and 4. I don't play racing games heavily long-term, but when I play them, I play them heavily in that time period.

As someone who isn't a huge car person, the whole tuning and tweaking of Forza doesn't really interest me. I enjoy more of the driving itself, and Forza's lack of variety in content (be it cars, tracks, or race types) grows old on me rather quickly. NFS: Rivals sounds like a blast though, with more of an open-world approach and the ability to play from the perspective of a racer or a cop. There just seems to be more there than running a few laps in the same car for the 100th time.

I like forza but I will say it does feel rather boring. I haven't played NFS in years. Does this new one have that crazy blur effect when your going fast? It gives me the craziest tunnel vision and headache

I guess I'm just not a car game player honestly. I might trade forza for Madden actually since my buddies all picked that game up and we will do a league

Finally hooked my Comcast cablebox into my Xbox One and I actually like it. Saying "Xbox watch <channel>" is nifty because I don't know what the channel numbers are. I watch so little TV, lol.

I'm the same way, I know what channel it is but not the number.

Same here.. I love the feature. If I'm feeding baby its awesome to just tell xbox to change channel and volume. Almost as revolutionary as a DVR for me. They just need to fix that friend and party sysem and I'll be happy.

I've had a bit more time with it and I love the voice commands and TV pass through even more. My only real complaints with the Xbox One are the current lack of games (but that will be fixed), the party / friend system, and the fact I can't play .mkv files from my PC.

Also, if you do "Xbox watch <channel with HD and SD version>" it goes to the HD channel by default. That is awesome.

Haha, feeding or playing with the baby is about the only time I use voice to change channels or volume. If it weren't for the kid, I don't know if I'd ever use it.

I only really use the remote for volume or my DVR anymore. I've gotten pretty good at dictating to the Xbox what I want. I know what the few channels I like are. Have you guys noticed you can call up the OneGuide from all over the place? I know it works in Netflix and a few other apps.

Can you set the Xbox to record shows using voice if you have a DVR? I haven't tried with it much (I don't actually watch much TV, but the GF does) and haven't messed with more than just changing the channel, volume up / down, and mute.

No, just pause/play/ff/rw.

Maybe we should tell MS to allow us to record shows to the cloud.. Giving us unlimited space.. Would that not be awesome and all done through voice commands. That would def change the game.

Meh, my upload speed is only 4Mb/s, so the quality would suck :D

It would be nice to record to the HDD though, but that will never happen :(.

I'm sure MS would like to do that... No way the cable/sat providers allow it, though.

Exactly, the Xbox One is just a glorified remote but not because they didn't want to do more, cable companies will never let someone else control the way you watch their TV.

Let us have an Xbox One with a massive HDD (2 TB or more), then let us use the console as a cable box. Get Comcast to figure out proper IPTV, then the cable boxes are gone.
