I really made out like a bandit considering what I bought.

I got a Toshiba 50" TV, AT&T Cordeless phone (expandable to 4 phone system), American Beauty DVS, Viper GTS model (my next car), Peet's coffee (yum!), a gift certificate to Macy's and a rash. I kid about the rash.

I really wanted a DirecTV/TiVO combo box, but no one seemed to want to buy me one. 🙁

That's okay - I really don't like christmas. This was the second time in my life I have ever celebrated it and I feel like some foolish consumer bent on acquiring useless things before my timely demise. Have you people not seen Fight Club?! YOU ARE NOT YOUR FU**ING KHAKIS!! I was raised a Jehovah's Witness and birthdays, xmas - all that is bad and not practiced, celebrated, etc.

But, we do get to annoy people on weekends. Good trade off, I'd say.
 
How old are you guys? Don't you guys think its a little selfish to accept presents past your 17 or 18th birthday? I'm 19 and I haven't accepted a present from any of my relatives in 3 years. My parents bug me every year asking what I want, but I always say the same thing "A pocket full of lint!"

I know that is my choice, but don't you feel somewhat guilty accepting gifts from people who work hard for their money? Especially if its for something like a hot new computer part.

...OR am I just weird?

btw: When I was a kid I got huge amounts of stuff and will fully admit that I was spoiled to the max (Back about 10 years ago I got a SNES, Sega Genesis, about 15 games for each, and a bunch of other stuff one year)! In other words, I have no problems with christmas for kids. Adults on the other hand....
 
For Hanukkah 🙂 I got a nice pair of leather gloves from my mom and a ceramic box that my sister made. They're gonna really help out, it's getting real cold these days!

How did you know they where gone?

Actually this will probably be the last time that happens. My children are building Christmas traditions for thier own families now and it is time for my wife and I to let go. That is a milestone many before me have passed. Its just new.


I did drop a hint for a future preasent they can collectively pass to us at a future Christmas. A vacation in Tahiti. (Do you think I'm un reasonable?)😀
 
A PS2 with all the related goodies. 🙂 Extra controller, DVD remote and Madden 2001. Now I just need a memory card.
