With a bit of research, looks like 52/46 Republican split suburb in 2020, so fairly even. But notably the local prosecutor that initially dropped the case, without further investigation, is a Republican... (before the state picked it up here). So I'd strongly guess that the perps were white and Republican, as Republican prosecutors have a strong track record of coming down with the largest prison sentence hammer on minority/Dem election inadvertent violators, but give warnings and at most misdemeanors to white Republicans who deliberately double-vote.Pub or Dem isn't mentioned, but as I recall, Macomb County is bright orange.

That's an excellent method to reject a legitimate election with. There's zero definitions set for that sentence, basically permitting them to reject it for whatever reason they really want, which will either go through courts for months or years, or just permit the state to go R unobstructed.
