My buddy played last night on resogun and died on the 2nd level then I took over and beat it from then. On the default level I need to up it to get a higher multiplier. I'm starting to understand how the human thing works.

That's the biggest problem with Housemarque games -- there are no instructions. Even if you do have them -- like the digital one on the Vita -- it doesn't tell you anything useful.

Although, I've pretty much figured out the whole human thing...


  • Humans are trapped in those little squares.
  • You can free them by killing the Keepers
  • The game will tell you when the Keepers spawn with the sound effect "Keepers Detected!"
  • Keepers are units that are highlighted in green. They can either be normal units or on-rail circle things.
  • Keepers normally spawn near your current location.
  • If the on-rail circle types disappear out the stage, you lose the human.
  • If the normal unit types reach a human return UFO-thing, you lose the human.
  • Once all the keeper units from that spawn die, the human is released from the cage and will be walking on the ground.
  • The cage appears to be predetermined, and may not be one close to you.
  • There is a green arrow around your ship that indicates where the human is, and there's a thin line going down to the human from the top of the zone. Plus, you can watch where the little burst goes after you kill the Keepers.
  • You need to return the human to the human return UFO-thing.
  • When you pick up a human, you reset your multiplier decay timer.
  • When you return a human, you reset your multiplier decay timer.
  • When you return a human, it appears that you get a weapon buff apart from the announced bonus. This is just a thought since I noticed that even though it said I got a Bomb or something like that, my weapon appeared to have more effects after dropping the human off.
The one thing that I'm not sure of is whether you can throw a human (L2) and then pick it back up again to reset the timer.

I connected my DS4 to a USB wall charger and it had a slow amber blink while charging...
 
Haven't even opened my PS4 yet. Debating sending it back, as reselling is becoming a hassle. A bunch of texts asking about it, and then nothing, or they offer some garbage trades. Why would I say no trades in the ad and then accept your garbage Northface crap?

Someone on Craigslist asked me if I wanted a ps3 + xbox360 + $150 for my ps4 lol.

Thanks! I'm still seriously considering the BenQ W1080ST also because I can basically get the image size however large I want it. As it is, I can probably only do an 11ft throw and with the 8350 it will net only a 112" screen. It seems small compared to some of my other setups, but I don't know.

I'm afraid people will see rainbows with the DLP, I've had people say that with my theater projectors...I had the Epson 8100 before and it was marvelous, I think triple LCD with low latency might be great for gaming.

The PS3 slims are super quiet. I can definitely hear the PS4 spin down after I finish a round of Battlefield. It's not Xbox loud, nothing ever could be but it's definitely louder than the Slims.

Well, it's simple really, because people on Craigslist are common cretins. I was offered $40 last week for a functioning 360 with 20 GB, two controllers, plus a couple of music games with their stuff. And the guy was serious. He actually thought he might have a chance.

My friend has the PS3 slim (I did not own one) and it was quiet but the BD drive was moderately loud. The PS4 is not audible compared to it, even after hours of gameplay. You can hear the drive spin a disk but after that I never really hear anything.



edit: On a side note guys...I am in the thought process mode for changing my TV. I don't have the wall space to do a projector but I am wondering if I should go with another Plasma or go with an LED variant. I love how a plasma looks, but my current plasma is starting to show minor visual anomalies. Is it worth it for longevity's sake to go with LED if I will be doing a lot of gaming? I understand that plasma tech is a lot better than when I purchased my Pioneer. I was thinking of going with a Panasonic but how do people like them for gaming compared to a high quality LED?

You must have missed my silly screw ups! 😛

Some of the way you play really depends on your ship. I just switched to the big, slow dude, and he's really powerful. However, that speed really screwed me over on boss 2.

Ahh turns out I had it set to High quality not Best. It should be better now.

I've been pretty impressed by the latest models of Samsung LED bigscreens. The motion fluidity - I don't know what samsung did, but the fluidity of motion is really good for some reason. I'm not sure how to explain it. Also much much brighter than plasma, although plasma surely has better contrast ratio.

The main drawback in my mind is that most Samsung LED screens are glossy which isn't ideal for viewing in well lit areas (not as much as plasma anyway). In dark environments it is fine.
 
Are PS4s available in store? I'm kinda shocked that any premium can be had via Craigslist.

EDIT: Oh, I seee that it is sold out ... at Best Buy which means probably everywhere.

I think my highest is about 6.5 million, which isn't too high. 🙁 I tend to lose my multiplier too much... especially if I'm running around looking for humans to get. Also, your score doesn't stick if you hit continue after losing all your lives.

Gamestop says they expect some more in the next week or two. My store had the highest number of pre-orders in the district so they got more than any other store. 197 systems to be exact. Since they sold through they are priority to get the first replenishments. Check with local stores if you are curious.
