Was the first one in the preorder line at my Best Buy, showed up about an hour before they opened. There was roughly 50 people out front of the store that didn't preorder.

By the time they let us in, there was around 30 people in the preorder line and around 80 in the non preorder line. No idea how many extra systems they had, didn't care was happy as a school girl 😀

Was the first one to walk out of the store with the system, felt good 😀

I showed up at 12:10 this morning. They let pre-orders come inside at 9:30 and wait there. The guy at the door just put me in a line as they had merged them both by then, pre-orders and tickets. They had 41 extra consoles to sell. If you did not pick up your console by 12:30 with a ticket, then they sold it to someone else.

Eff pre-orders. Head out at 9am the next day knowing there are 10 left and they're scattered around town, and it's you against a bazillion soccer moms

I think they all say "by 8 p.m." on the Amazon site. I would not expect it would actually be delivered that late. When I go to the actual UPS site it says it will be delivered "by end of day." Based on my past experience with Amazon I expect to receive it before noon.

Yeah, it was delivered at 9:30AM, which is normal for deliveries to my work.

Now, what to spend my $0.03 savings on...

my ups deliveries from amazon usually get delivered around 3-4pm. i hope i don't have to sign for it because i might not be home in time for it to arrive.

Can someone please tell me how the party chat is? I'm hoping its good, I don't expect it to be xbox good but hopefully it's not a bust

I have always had to sign for my shipments from Amazon.

oh i've never had to sign for them, and i get on average probably 1 item a week from them. sometimes 2.

only thing i ever had to be there for was a tv, but that was white van delivery too where they bring it inside and set it up for you to make sure it works. i've had huge boxes from amazon left on my porch though. probably the most expensive was $300 though, not $400 like the ps4 is.

ive never had to sign for things from amazon. not counting a TV which they brought inside they have left thousands of $ of stuff on my porch

sometimes they bring it to the side

It might depend on the neighborhood. Maybe even the driver. My building has secured access, and I've noticed packages left at door of the units. Sometimes they leave notices at the persons door or at the main entrance. If they simply range my door it would have been routed to my cell phone and I could remotely let them into the building, but sometimes they dont and just leave a notice. Might depend on their workload. I get home late and miss the same dame pickup option, which is why I now have everything delivered to my work.

They usually make you sign when its over a certain amount.

I think it's based on where you live and seller preference. I've never had to sign for things that cost way more than a PS4. If you live in a low to medium density residential area where they can leave the package at a side door or in a garage they are more likely to leave it and note it's location on the electronic delivery reciept. In places where residential density is higher, package security is questionable, or package theft has been reported they will likely require a signature.

I have a friend who always has his packages shipped to the local distribution center (everyone has that option) and just picks them up after work. He never has to worry about waiting on drivers or his package. In some cases I've seen him get his packages a day early because sometimes they arrive the day before the driver would normally deliver it.
