Ugh...destructoid...where did they come up with that number? Nobody at sony has made any comments past the usual "we believe it is isolated. It isn't a widespread issue."

Yeah I dunno it seems like a random site. 4% is high I think the accepted rate is about 2%. We won't even know until months after.

Their source was CVG. I should have posted their link instead. Might as well do that now.

Not sure where that number came from either but Shuhei Yoshida confirmed they were investigating reports of problems.

In the past destructiod gave low review scores to games that were getting good reviews to generate hits. I would not put it past them to make up these numbers for people to click on.

That article doesn't mention 4% lol.

According to this video someone at sony has apparently estimated that it is .4% of the shipped consoles, as in less than 1%. Not 4% http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/11/14/ps4-problems-should-you-be-concerned

So I called at 7:40pm and asked for my Amazon shipment to be held for pickup. At 7:51pm, it was marked as ready for pickup. I didn't see until I got home, otherwise it was 2 minutes from work. Could've had the thing tonight, not that it matters since I don't plan on keeping it.

My local best buy has 25 available for non pre order customers (got this info from a good friend/employee). Not sure what type of line I'll be dealing with if I head out there 30 minutes early. I'm wondering if most people preordered and there'd only be a few that didnt, or if there are going to be tons of people lined up for hours waiting to get one of those 25?

Yep, that's me being retarded. I know I did see that somewhere though. Had to dig back through my Twitter feed to find it. VG247 had originally listed it as 4% but they've since took the article down. @GameNewz a news bot, had MTed it.

"PS4 hardware failure rate as high as 4% – report - *Link Removed* - vg247"

It is 0.4% officially.

There's probably a line now. People camped my gamestop for 3-4 hours to get in line to get one of the 15 extras.

I was at Best Buy today at 12 noon and there were already about 15 people camping out.

Shit not even near the lot and it looks like Disney world.

Hah, that's why pre-orders are the best. I like how gamestop does it. They have everyone come early and pay for whatever you're picking up. Get a number and you come back already knowing when you'll get your system(or game). Plus since nobody is going to be buying anything you are in and out fast. At my store they asked everyone as they walked in if they reserved a system or not. They handed out a ticket to everyone who didn't reserve one up until they sold the remaining 15 they had.

I suspect there will be some people standing around hoping to get one at the store though. Although walmart is right next door.

Hit Target one more time.

NBA2K14
Killzone
AC
BF4
Ghosts
Knack

Everything else they had was sports games.mi really wanted NFS Rivals, so I may swap one of these out.

Well, as it turns out, I didn't cancel my PS4 order and got a notice it just shipped. It is shipping out of IN, so I should have it tomorrow. I probably won't get it, and have to go pick it up, due to it being at work all day.

Yeah and this wasn't even at 9 yet. People with tents, one guy had a George Forman plugged into an outlet by the store wall. Line was all the way down the block. Wish I could have taken a picture but I was driving.

I'll get up tomorrow get my haircut and grab my system in the morning. I'll also cancel my pre orders and get $15 bucks back since I already have the games I want. The sports games will drop price later and I'll pick up 2k14 and fifa just to have in case friends come over. I normally don't play sport games on my own.

I think I've come up with a way to make a headset from your PC work on a PS4...provided it works as I think it does. Would require a 3.5mm y-splitter, an extension cable (to go to your AVR), and a RCA female to 3.5mm male adapter. If it works you can send chat and receive voice from the controller and game audio from your AVR to your PC headset. It's a lot of wires but I have them laying around so I might try it once a friend of mine gets his PS4 setup. I have a pretty expensive headset for my PC I'd like to make work if possible.

update to 1.5 went smoothly with the usb update in safe mode. so that is good.

i haven't played anything really yet, about to eat then get some time on it. but i started downloading resogun and contrast so i'll have those too. i booted up knack but came up to do some other stuff. man the resolution i gotta say does look great even at just the knack intro screen. but then when the game starts in the cutscene the graphics are just okay. again, haven't gotten into it but thats my first impressions.

as far as the interface goes, i like it. i like the sound it reminds of playing the game Flow while in the interface of it. also pressing the home button is quick now. but i noticed quite a big of lag/delay when messing around the menus after i went to the store and back.

i also really like the controller. it feels really good in the hands. definitely a huge upgrade from the ds3. the one thing i don't like about it is that the light is always on, unless there is a way to turn it off. but i couldn't figure out how to turn it off.

will report back later!
