You don't have to rush to Target. Target has in-store pick-up for online orders.

EDIT: I'm still waiting for the reviews to go live tomorrow. My PC is rather beefy, so I don't see the point in getting games like AC4 for it.

Not all games online show as qualifying for the b2g1 at target. Maybe they changed that.

Received Battlefield 4, Killzone and Madden from Amazon today. This is the first time I've bought a console at launch - it's weird to have games in my hand where the review embargo still isn't lifted because the console isn't out yet.

That plus the fact it is completely impossible to play the game anyway! Amazon sold out of killzone in the past hour or two. Ps2 is the only console I ever bought near launch. I recall paying $400 as well and that was 12 years ago!

PS2 was $400 at launch? That sounds pretty ballsy for back then... I never got one around release so no idea. Same with original Xbox, although I thought I recall that being $299.

Dude, that is bogus. Not cool. Unless this is some policy I haven't heard of where they take in games from other stores.

Wal Mart takes back anything they sell. Since Wal Mart sells the game he does not desire, he plans on taking the game into Wal mart with no receipt for a refund via a store gift card. Wal Mart will give him a gift card for in store use only. He will then purchase the game he wants with his store gift card.

Exactly what Adrenaline said.

ps2 was for sure $299 at launch. i waited 8 hours in the cold in line at target for one. i bought madden lol. what a shitty launch lineup that console had.

Has there ever been a decent console launch line-up with A+ first party titles? Its usually the usual suspects quick to market with their 15th cross platform iteration of Madden, Spongebob, Wheel of Fortune, Hanna Montanna, Dance Party, and crap like that.

I dont know if this counts but the Wii just needed Wii Sports. It might not be considered AAA, but it was the system seller.

Wii Sports wasn't a system seller so much as the new waggle motion controller gimick and the Wii having "the latest trendy white iDevice coffee table appliance for your cool hip living room" appeal.

Wii's success was a 1 time fluke that isn't likely to be repeated.

A great launch for Wii would have been Super Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime on day one. Actually we got Zelda because it was already on GameCube. The rest? Spongebob, Cars, Wii Sports, Madden, Need for Speed, Tony Hawk, Marvel, etc... All the same crap that has launched every system I can remember.

Wii sports came with the system too so it isn't really fair cause many people bought a wii and never bought any software at retail.

Its what made the console viable. Without Wii Sports at launch, I dont think it would have sold nearly as well. People 50 or older wanted a Wii to play Wii Sports.

You would think there would be more 1st party games for launch. Why Sony didn't have The Last of Us, next version of GT, and Uncharted game, something, ready at launch is beyond me. I guess they think Killzone is a big deal. At least MS has Forza.

That's a good call. If The Last of Us was available for PS4 on day one I would have definitely grabbed it.

its because naughty dog knows that they will make a shitload more money putting those games out on ps3 because of the install base. unless sony gives them a huge financial incentive, it just doesn't make sense for them to do that. but we will see those games coming out over the next year. i believe uncharted was out on ps3 about a year after launch, and imsomnia had resistance early for ps3, and ratchet and clank was less than a year after launch. we'll start to see some really good games hopefully early next year.

I thought Naughty Dog was owned by Sony, and I think Imsoniac did Resistance.

Insomniac.

Had a lunch meeting and didn't get in on the Amazon deal early enough. Only game I will get this weekend appears to Knack. I might try Target and see if they have anything.

Went to Target and they were pretty much cleaned out. The only game I really want out of the launch titles is Killzone so maybe I'll just settle for that for the time being.

They probably have more in stock in the back. When I was at mine, no one was there. They had 3 copies out locked behind a shelve of AC, killzone , and cod.

ND is owned by sony but they had already spent a considerable amount of time on the ps3 game and would not be able to retool it for ps4 in time. Also the install base matters quite a bit.

Was at GameStop today on the way home and it appears as if many stores will have a few extra ps4s on launch. Any left over not sold by Saturday though will be sent to the busiest store in the district.

Right ps2 was $299 but it was also 13 years ago and now I recall I got it in October, not March.

I wish the last of us was ported to PS4. I will never get to play it 🙁

A guy at work told me today that GameStop told him to arrive on Thursday at 6 pm and they are giving out reserve stickers for ps4s. I plan on hitting up target at 8:00 am on Friday on the off chance I can snag another ps4 😉
