wtf is the orbis?

that controller looks very clunky and awkward. what is the point of a tiny touch screen like that? i do like that the analogs aren't convex like the ps3 ones. also like the spacing further apart between the analog sticks since sometimes my thumbs would touch. although, the analog placement is still awful. dpad looks almost like it is concave a little bit.

can't see much about the triggers though from that angle.

EDIT:

oh looks like orbis is the codename for ps4 or something.

Looks terrible, and so much for the PlayStation remote having a better dpad it looks connected to me. And why add that small of a touch screen?

If they ever fixed their sticks I might go back to PlayStation. I don't know how anyone plays with those sticks, there is virtually no input resistance, defeating the purpose of analog sticks.

Plus the the sticks are too damn close together for people with normal sized hands.

Although, it looks like they might be farther apart than on the Dual Shock. :hmm:

Try having massive hands. The original Xbox controller was the best for me. N64 takes second.

This is so true, even my GF who is only 5' 2" tall can't stand the PS3 controller and loves the 360 controller because the PS3 controller is too small.

When I first saw the early mockups VGLeaks had, it reminded me a lot of the 360 controller. Touch pads aren't too surprising given the Vita, but I don't know how useful it will be.

A message to Sony, for the love of god allow us to charge it with any run of the mill USB charger.

Will probably end up being the actual name for it too, if the Vita is anything to go by.

Am I the only one who thinks the blue bar on the back of the controller looks like a Move-type emitter to give the controller a motion detection capability?

Yup definitely looks like that. Also I'm not sure fan on touch pads on controllers but whatever.

that thing was huge... so much so that the compact version became the standard version purely because of market demand.

Oh I'm aware, just putting things into perspective, that thing was perfect sized for me. Imagine a PS2/3 controller in my hands.

This trend of touchscreens on controllers is idiotic. I hope Microsoft is not dumb enough to follow suit.

I hate touch screen gaming with a passion. Lets hope it's something else.

I've heard rumors that developers think the ps4 is easier to develop for and slightly more powerful than the new Xbox. Wonder if any of that is true.

Aww, WTF I was hoping they'd try to make the Move split mockup that they got the patent for not too long ago.

Actually maybe not after that patent drawing.

At least they're doing something about the damned awful convex top of the analog sticks. Hopefully they're doing the same for the "triggers". I'd personally wish for a major overhaul as I've never been a fan of just about anything of the Playstation controllers other than their symmetric stick setup (which I wish were actually switched with the d-pad and main buttons).

I hate their unwillingness to use buttons on the underside of the controller too. The front two shoulder buttons should be where your middle fingers can hit them on the underside of the controller.

There's nothing wrong with touchscreen gaming when the touch screen is the one that you are looking at. But when you are looking at a different screen, trying to use a touch screen on a controller makes absolutely no sense.

I'm glad everyone in here knows exactly how this is being used and how it works in games. Must be nice.

Chill out and wait until the thing is demoed and talked about publicly.
