So is Drive Club still delayed because my local newspaper ads all display driveclub for sale on Nov 15 and say nothing of it being different. Usually they would say underneath the sale price if the date is later.

I'll have no problem paying 5 bucks a month if we get a free game every month. It may not be a game you like but there is something someone will like within that time frame.

I'm going to look up some of these titles. I really hope we get a burnout game by the summer of 2014.

You get four games per month with PlayStation Network Plus. The only thing is that you can't guarantee whether it will be anything good and/or usable. You can get PSN games that are PS3-only, cross-buy PSN games, PSP games (works on Vita), Vita games, or full-fledged PS3 games.

Yes, it has been delayed.

Well, I just cancelled my Amazon pre-order. Ordering was kind of a knee-jerk reaction in the first place, and now I'm just struggling to find a reason to have it day 1. I forsee that I'll have one at some point but there's a number of things I'd probably spend that money on until there's a good bunch of games out.

It will take time to get some decent games. My little brother doesn't want a ps4 either. Puts a lot less strain on my wallet so he will continue playing the PS3 and I'll get him cod ghosts for Xmas.
Even if the x1 was the same price I wouldn't be too interested in the launch games. I do want to play kill zone and ghosts on the new system because ghosts will definitely look better on ps4.

I've been contemplating doing the same. I might end up getting it and leaving it untouched in the box. Maybe toss it on eBay if there is a high demand around Christmas.

The only reason I haven't cancelled my preorder is because I am hoping I can sell it. I will end up buying one later when come games I want come out, but there just doesn't seem to be any games I want around launch.

I figure if I end up really wanting some of the launch games, I can pick one up in January after the holiday rush.

There's been a couple of duds but so far the free (or more accurately, leased) PS Plus games have pretty decent. I got Infamous 2, Saints Row The Third, LBP 2, Bioshock 2, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss off there. Older titles but still a few AAA games. A lot of the early "free" PS4 games are going to be indie titles. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Since all the rental places closed down, it's a good alternative. There's GameAccess but I'm not paying almost $20 a month for that.

If you are looking to sell the console keep an eye on eBay. Seems prices have dropped to the $500 mark now. Worst comes to worst you can always return it if you just don't open it.

Yeap, I imagine X1 and PS4 prices will spike when people go to the stores and can't find them in major markets. The opportunity might be a small one (resupply will dampen the pricing), but it will probably be there.

A problem with this strategy is the absolutely massive influx of people thinking they can be scalpers. Perhaps even half or more of the preorders are from people who intend to make a profit off of them. In an ideal world, scalpers wouldn't exist, but that's where we're at. I think a bunch of the scalpers will get burned this time around though. It's why I support a restocking fee being the standard for this kind of thing. Scalpers artificially constrict and interfere with the normal supply chain of units going directly to those who actually want them, adding yet another middle-man to the equation, it's just crap.

Imagine if every purchase you made was stuffed full of scalpers. Go to the gas station, oops, all the gas has been bought by hillbillies with little 1000 gallon tanks behind their duallies. $3/gallon? Nope, he'll cut you a deal at $7/gallon. Go to the grocery store, oops, all the milk, bread, etc is sold out. Hector in the parking lot is willing to sell them to you at a 300% markup though. Need new tires? Sorry, all sold out, but how about dealing with James, local scalper who will hook you up at $2,000 a tire.

None of those things are limited resources (well, not in the sense of PS4 availability at launch). The supply of gas is going to exceed the demand until we start actually running out of fossil fuels. For limited releases (or small releases because production is low at the moment) will always have people who know somebody out there doesn't care about price as much as they care about having it now.

Yeah, I am probably going to offer it to my friends for retail if eBay doesn't go back up as we get closer to release. I'd just have them PayPal me the cost and have it shipped to their house.

I was thinking of selling mine but Im going to keep it. I'll end up with one anyway, I have the money now where as later I may not incase something comes up. Going to try to enjoy it even though the game selection is limited.

I would normally sell it if I didn't have to go through ebay, pack, ship. I currently have no ps3 backlog either. Just have to finish gta5 and that's it.

Oh, and if you're looking for games to get at Target for their Buy Two Get One Free deal, EA just moved up Need for Speed Rivals release date from November 19 to November 15 (PS4's release date). So, now you've got one more option!

$500 isn't even worth it when you consider eBay and PayPal fees. eBay normally sends a bill at the end of a month, and a bit of mental math showed me around a 20% surcharge just for selling stuff.

I thought about it, but decided I'd rather not go through the trouble of selling. I don't want to be stuck with $400 of something I don't want, when there's a very good chance I'll want to jump on a TV around Black Friday instead.

eBay has a a fee calculator, but you also have to factor in the 4% transaction fee from PayPal. If you sold a PS4 for $600, you get just over $80 in profit after everything. Add in $40 for shipping, and it is probably closer to $90. Not terrible for doing pretty much nothing, but not amazing.

If flipping things on eBay for profit is something you want to do, look for Jordan retros and Nike special editions instead. A few of them go for a lot. I sold a pair I paid $140 retail for just under $800. Pretty much every Jordan 11 retro will top $400 a week after release as well; they retail for $180. You just have to either wake up early (they release at 7AM CST) or know someone at a footlocker to hook you up (even with that, some are Nike Store / Nike.com release only).

I'll have to check out need for speed. I may not even get bf4 for ps4 just computer since it would be pointless. Most of my buddies will have it for ps3 or not getting a new system yet.

Unless these consoles sell really well, I don't want to bother with finding a box, packing peanuts, figuring out what to charge on shipping and insurance so I don't loose money, and dealing with PayPal and eBay fees.

I would much rather sell to a craigslist person but you know they are not the type to want to pay double the retail value haha.

I took a closer look at the fees in question, and I had 11.23% according to eBay. I didn't realize that the overall bill included shipping charges that had been accumulating, which is why it seemed much higher than it was. The shipping charges were about 55% of the amount of the Final Value Fee.

I'm mostly just selling stuff that I don't really need anymore. I buy way too much technology, and I barely use any of it. :$ At one point, I had four 360s and three PS3s, and I barely used any of them!

so what is your thought process when purchasing 360 #4 and ps3 #3?

"well i already have 3 of these i don't use, i think it would be wise to get a 4th."

If I would have pre ordered from amazon I could do the same. It's worth watching eBay now. But I don't expect to see them selling for more than what finished auctions have ended with now which is like $500-600 at the most. Worth a shot if you wait and look.

I have two TVs, and I replaced the older, fat models with slim models. I also got an extra 360 because someone gave me a broken one, but I fixed it in half an hour. My older models had exhibited issues in the past, and while I was able to fix them, I didn't feel like dealing with them. Also, a white 360 looks odd in an all black entertainment center. :p

I'm thinking about taking advantage of the Target deal, getting Ghosts, AC and Rivals. Then, selling it as a package with an extra controller for $1000+ if things get crazy.

I wish amazon would do this deal. I contacted them and they said they only price match tv's and such.

Kinda worried because a buddy of mine called target and they said they don't know anything about such a sale. Could be that they just don't want to reveal it until next week.
