Steam says I spent 4.9 hours on my first run through. I took my time and had fun. I still have all the challenges to do, plus the camera achievement. Looking forward to the community maps.

Wait...there is a voice that talks to you? I'm on the last level and I haven't heard any such voice. Might have to try playing it again to see if I can hear it...

You're kidding right? It's a loud voice over the PA that talks you through the levels.

Did anyone else take 2 tries to beat the game? First time, I couldn't find the damn eye. I searched everywhere but up, lol. It was the second one, I had plenty of time, just had no idea where it was. No problem the second time.

Seriously...there has been no voice for me throughout the entire game! Damnit! Woke up in that room and figured out everything for myself! Didn't even die till lvl 17 or 18...

Yeah, i had trouble locating the 2nd "eye" at first, also.


i want to do the end boss scene over again and just let everything go until the time limit runs out. i want to see what else the boss says and what it says when you run out of time.

the things it says and the way its voie sounds just really makes it more hilarious than if it had been a normal voice.

Some people had this, I read it was down to the voice files not being decrypted. I think there was an update to fix it, so try restarting Steam.
 
I played for about 20 minutes last night and got to level 12. What a great game, just loads of fun. I can hardly wait to get home and finish it off...then jump into TF2. 😀

i beat the game twice now; the second time with commentary. i can't wait for some more maps.

quick question: do any of you experience really low fps while playing? i'm usually 30-40 fps, but it drops to the 20's or even 10's when portals are open (i guess b/c of the extra rendering needed). i just find it unusual as i get a steady 50-60+ fps on other source games like CS:S.

-game resolution 1280x1040; 2x AA, 4X AF; all settings on high. (i've also noticed i really don't get much improvement in frame rate when dropping down to 1024x768...)

-7600gt
-2gb ddr3200 ram
 
Heh, steam made is easy for me:
Portal finish time: 3hrs
Hl2 ep2 finish: 6.2hrs

I haven't tried the extras though.
