I'd like to thank my shoes for supporting my feet, the sun for growing the food that I ate for dinner, and my limo driver for getting me here tonight. Jesus Christ Halle, SHUT THE HELL UP. I just started watching this while she was running her mouth and I'm already tired of this crap.

The 74 years of the Academy Awards being handed out. I guess never before to anyone who wasn't Caucasian.

I think he's a great actor and fully deserves the award. But...in a way....I wish he didn't win....the whole "making up to african americans" tone in a way cheapen his win.
 
"Training Day" was the only movie I've seen out of any of the big award nominee movies, Denzel was great in it. Good for him.
 
I figured LoTR wouldn't win too much since it wasn't the typical drama type movie that wins Best Picture.

Except for Gladitor, I don't think fun movies ever win awards like that even though they entertain and that is the point of movies.
 
I thought Denzels performance in Training Day was great, but i didnt care much for the actual movie...

What do you mean? A bunch of people getting together every year and giving each other awards and acting fake to the audience isn't a sham?
 
Was it just me, or did this year's Oscar theme seem to be "We have been oppressed, but no more! The doors have been opened for black people!"?

Why does everything have to be so political anymore?
 
*Yawn* Another tediously predictable Oscar night... Denzel for Best Actor was the only high point IMHO.

Prediction: Five, ten years from now ABM for Best Picture 2001 will be widely viewed as one of the worst Oscar picks ever (even worse than How Green Was My Valley but only slightly better than Titanic and Driving Miss Daisy). LOL, the Academy chokes yet again.
