I'm still trying to find one of these. Are there confirmation that target/toysrus/walmart will have these tommorrow? I've called them all and they claim they have none and have no clue when they will get more.

My local Toys R US is expecting a shipment tomorrow.
I'm going with a buddy cuz he wants to pick one up for himself.
I'm personally going to go pick up a wiimote + nunchuck.

Maybe depending on my mood another system for a slight profit for a local sale 😛

i believe i discovered how people damaged their tvs with wii remotes.

they were playing Zelda and got to the part in the 1st dungeon where you have to jump across the pillars. After about 50+ attempts they got so pissed off they threw the remote at the tv.

FVVVVVVVVVVVVCK!!!!!! i can't get passed this part!! why did they have to make it so goddamn difficult?????
i'm ready to give up on the damn game because of this BS.

if i do happen to land on the 1st pillar, i always overjump the second. i made it across once and then fell at the 2nd part. haven't been able to get to the 2nd pillar again. the time i did make i did stop going between pillars.

My toysrus is expecting some as well. Target said they didn't know for sure.

The people answering the phones sound like they are getting annoyed from phone calls for the ps3 and wii. 🙂

they should have made it re-chargeable.

I've heard a few other complaints about this as well, but I haven't experienced anything like this. I have about 20 hours between Wii Sports and Zelda and it still shows my main controller as having full battery life.

I had my first remote slip today. "Luckily" enough I released it while bowling and the controller went straight up at a significant rate of speed. I put a 1/4" deep dent in my parents ceiling 😱. I did get the strike, though!

How did the wiimote survive? Still work perfectly?

Excellent. I can't wait to see someone strap a wii + wiimote to the back of a car and take it around the block and then plug it in and watch it fire up. 🙂

I'm trying to get one too. Tomorrow is December 3rd, stores are supposed to have some. I think I'll wait for Target to open, and there's a Circuit City next door. I want one of these things!

None of the Targets in my area would confirm if they have any in stock. I bought a Sunday paper to get the sale papers but the damn thing is missing all the good ones.

One Circuit City in my area said they would have 20 of them in stock in the am.

Does anyone have any small children (aged 4-7) who have tried the Wii? Are the buttons easily reachable for small hands?

I've found that to be typical of a lot of electronics... they show full capacity until they're almost done, then they drop rapidly. I had both of mine die after about a week and about 30 hours of play. And those are Panasonics, which I think are pretty crappy (I've seen them for $1 in a 4 pack at Target and $.79 for a 4 pack at my local grocery store). Replaced with NiMh rechargeables.

IGN put a dent in their wall with one. It broke into three pieces, but they put it back together and it still worked.

iamwiz, were you using the wrist strap? I reinforced my wrist straps just in case. Hopefully Nintendo beefs up the wrist straps in the near future.

No. We were playing 4 person bowling and in my desire to keep it moving I was bowling quickly.

Always wear your wriststrap.

what did you do to reinforce it exactly? I'm contemplating switching one to my canon powershot strap.. .I don't use it and it looks a little heftier. Bt that only helps 1.. heh.

the DS Lite strap is $4 unfortunately 🙁

I took a strand of what looks like nylon string out of some paracord. It melted when I burned the ends with a lighter, so I'm pretty sure it's nylon. I can send you some if you want. It's a bit thick and it's ugly, but hopefully it'll do the job.

Yes they fit fine. BUt you'll hae to supervise them when they play though. kids can really get into it and do more than necessary for action to occur.

kids in the family where doing full blown batting swings and pitches. they have no clue as to who's around them either when they are in the moment.

1.25 million Wii's sold in a just a couple weeks. Impressive Nintendo!

Thats as of 8pm EST 12/02/2006

don't put too much into that. the guy that does site, noted that it just a script that auto updates based on some formula he came up with. when some official number is put out he makes adjustments.

anyone able to find component cables instores? I don't feel like paying the 5 dollar shipping fee from nintendo but it looks like I'll have that route

Sorry, I haven't added anyone since the first day or two I had the thing. 😱 I'll add everyone in the Wii Number thread tomorrow, I promise! 🙂
