I want a Wii and will be checking Walmart when they open tomorrow. I'm buying something else there anyway, so it can't hurt to check for the Wii while I'm there.

I didn't wait around for one because I was ASSURED that there would be plenty of supply for the Wii!

With all the interest there is with the Wiii, I'm starting to think that they might not really be available until after Christmas.

"really" available is up to you. If you take action and call around some local stores, you can find out when new shipments should come in and make sure to go.

Although casually available I'd definitely agree it will be quite some time before they're widely available for anyone to pick up at any time and almost any place they want.

I must say, Wii Sports is the big hit this Thanksgiving. My relatives who never play games are hooked on bowling.

My brother is retarded or something. The kid was a three sport varsity athlete and he doesn't have the coordination to let go of the button at the right time in bowling. He didn't hit a single homer in the home run derby minigame, and he didn't have the attention span for golf. He said he liked it, I think he was just too distracted.

hey man, I can barely get a homer... heh. I hate the golf game tho. Tennis and bowling is it for me basically.

I do however need another TV. I can't play zelda for hours on end..... I do have AV inputs on my iMac... hrmmm.... brb :D

My record is 9 homers, and it still didn't give me a gold medal. :(

Anyone else think that an update to "Rag Doll Kung Fu" for the Wii .. using Mii's would just be a perfect game for using the Wiimote? ...

Maybe "Mii King-Fu" as a 800 point download? .... who wouldn't?

Wow, same here. I actually hooked my cousins and aunts/uncles. Also brought it over to a friends family and hooked them on it. Just waiting for my Commision check from Nintendo...

Apparently they were underhyped then. I'm very happy I did go out early Sunday morning.
I didn't. :(

I've called all the local stores, and none of them had Wii's in stock, or could tell me when the next shipment would be. :(:(:(

On the other hand, I'm really hoping my Nintendo stock takes off! :):p;):D

I tried some of the different challenges in Wii sports, they're pretty cool overall. The second boxing one is crazy.

So with all the positive feedback here can we say pretty definitely that the Wii is a hit? Or are you still holding your final opinion until more games come out? Has Nintendo pulled off a successful launch or do any of the nay sayers have a point (eg not for hardcore gamers, gamers don't want to swing a remote around looking gay etc blah blah blah). Personally I can't stand most of the negative responses to the Wii and the types of gamers those responses are coming from, but then I've not laid hands on the console yet either.

Yeah, I've been calling BB/CC/Target/Walmart/ToysRUs/EBgames every day, and none of them can tell me when there will be any more in stock. They just keep saying "call back tomorrow". :(

It's probably still too early to tell. It may just be the novelty of it for now. Wii Play hasn't been released yet (and it better be here..) but that should be a blast. I still see kids liking the system more though with games like super monkey ball.

The real question is can they get the online gaming down... even if they could be half what xbox live is... I myself and eagerly awaiting super smash brothers :)

is it possible to walk into a store and get a Wii right now, or are they suffering from lack of production like PS3?

I would like to pick one up, but don't want to waste an hour or two for nothing.

it's not lack of production exactly, just higher demand than expected. Nintendo said from the start, 2 million will make it out the door for 2006. And they are on track for it. Sony however... went from like 1 million to 400k to 200k days before launch.

But yeah, the chances are slim on picking on up by just walking in. Especially today.

you might be able to get one at EB Games or Gamestop. they were suppsoed to have a few for today. but at this late in the day, they're probably all gone now.

From what I understand each EB/GS had 5 Wiis for today's sale. My local GS had them all sold in under 5 minutes.............. and none to me. :(

Huge holiday hit. In many of the Wii Sports games the least gamer type family members were the best/luckiest players. My potential future mother-in-law was the queen of chip in shots for birdies and eagles!

Ok, from what I understand is that Best Buy did NOT sell any Wiis today because they're holding them all for their Sunday sale.

I heard each Best Buy should recieve at least 12 Wiis per store.
So if you get there early you have a good chance,....

That's my plan of attack.
If I don't get one on Sunday, I'm giving up on it til after the new year.

Getting pissed off it's so much work to buy one,....

Finding the console is not a problem, finding the nunchuck is the problem. Got my wii on Monday and some wiimote yesterday but no one have the nunchuck...

BTW Rayman rock.

If anyone have COD, can you post your opinion of it?

About 10 hours into Zelda, love the game. I am a bit disappointed that Nintendo didn't opt to use orchestrated music and some voices, but I guess that's what happens when it is a GC port. Love the clever puzzles, but I wish the bosses were a bit harder.
