Well if we must go to war all I hope is that they do it right this time. Kill Saddam and his sons with minimum US/Ally casualties..

Woah woah woah. What exactly have his sons done other than be related to Saddam? I have an issue with "sins of the father" here.:Q

You are kidding right? Uday is Saddam's right hand man, leader of the Republican Guard and leader of the press. You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

I didn't know what I was talking about; that's why I asked.;) Thanks for the info guys.

PS Millennium, the market was down in part due to uncertainty. With war basically "settled", it's going to be a bit more stable. That said, with a weak economy, it's still going to be flatlining for the most part

These dumb peace protestors are clueless! They say that they are against the US because civilians may die, but they support the guy that killed 2,000,000 people.

Whoa. We arent going to attack the Iraqis, just Saddam! Whoa! Way to go!

I so loathe Bush right now it isn't even funny. It seems his only reason he wanted office was to "finish off what his father started". Ever since he went into presidency, its been nothing but a downfall in the US economy. I hope he doesn't get re-elected, I think another term would put the US in turmoil.

Hey the market went up 300 points today. You were saying?

OK, and if the market is going up for a change, how come it is souls like myself that can't find a job if it fell outta the sky and danced in front of me? C'mon, when Clinton was in office, the economy was smooth, stocks were up, and things were stable. Now that Bush is in office, and he has his people behind him (and I do somewhat know of his administration, thank you ;)), the US has been nothing more than on a slide, economy-wise. Every single speech I hear from Bush, its all about war, nothing about the US. As I said before, all he really seems to care about is taking over where his father left off. I'm also not saying that Clinton was the greatest president, but things were certainly better when he was in office. In other words, I'm very concerned about the faltering economy right now, as it is, I don't need any more problems laid out upon me because jobs are so scarce. Yes, the economy is beginning to rebuild itself, but at a very slow pace.

And what miracles exactly was Gore going to pull out of his hat that would have our economy suddenly roaring back to life?

LOL! there could have been a monkey in office during the 90's and the economy would have been great! Tech finally took off, construction at all time highs as were manufacturing and most was due to improved tech and the millions of jobs created by this.

As for Bush and war...................let's see, 9/11.................think Clinton would have done anything different or Gore for that matter.......................iraq.......................CLINTON made REGIME CHANGE the official US policy in 1998!;)

I just looked at yahoo finance for a few minutes. The market is a little higher than pre-tech bubble levels right now. No doubt the economy is weak, but the tech bubble seriously overvalued stocks.

Oh, I wouldn't have voted for Gore either, to be honest. When 9/11 came around, and Gore was in office (hypothetically speaking, of course), nothing would have been done. The US woulda been in a much worse situation IMO.

And yeah, Hagbard does seem quite the cynical type, does he actually live in the US?? If so, why doesn't he move if he hates it so much??

And meanwhile Gore and Bush would have been still asking themselves to this day: "Whats a regime change?" :D

You realize the president has very little control over the economy right? Are you one of the uninformed masses? It takes time for any economic stimulus packages to be felt. Sure, there is a short run up anytime a package is announced, but it takes a few years before it can make an impact. If you are in IT then you KNOW the reason you cannot get a job. Actually, I seriously doubt you can't get a job period. Fast food is always hiring(even though it would be crappy to work there). Hey, I just got an IT job at a theme park and I am NCNE. It is really all about your connections.

I thought it was an excellent speech, as I just mentioned in another thread.

Saddam is a fuken idiot. He had his chance, and now he's going to die.

Where would he go if he had left Iraq? Who would take him?

And what about the concept of the state of the economy lagging behind what a president does with the economic policy by about eight years? (gah, can't think straight tonight, but that's basically how I heard it stated; of course some are not going to like this because then they can't necessarily give Clinton the praise for the economy that was good during his terms).

I think Saudi Arabia, Libya, or Syria would take him. There could be other countries also.

I think his leaving Iraq would be a bad thing. I mean what is he going to do? Retire? Play Golf?

Get it right, I'm a stop and shop boy!! :D

I've heard quite a few people say that the economy was suffering not only because of 9/11 but also because of Bush. I'm not officially an IT person (I do have some experience though), I'm a civil engineer, actually, going back to school for Computer Science soon. The Civil Engineering world is suffering just as bad as IT right now with jobs. I've sent out resume after resume and got denied time and time again. Why? Work has been slow. I also got laid off from my last 2 jobs due to workload. I know people that have been laid off in the IT world, and jobs are suffering there just as bad. What ever little control Bush supposedly has, he's not doing a good job IMO. I know one person can't do everything in one day, but I would like to hear something about the economy in one of Bush's speech at some point. Speaking of which, I did not see the speech tonight, I was busy packing and getting ready to move. Why am I moving? Because I haven't found a job yet...

I agree, I highly doubt Saddam is going to leave. He's had ample time to avoid war, now he's brought it on himself.

Despite my views on Bush, I think we have it made with this war. And I would love to see Saddam try and retire to the US, he'd be shot on sight :D

No, just smart enough to look at the profile. :) FYI, that was meant just for the dickhead, not all those other fine Canadians. ;)
