I played GT1 and 2 on playstation and hated them both. I couldn't stand the way the cars steered...blech. I'll wait for XBox/GC. >>
I never played GT or GT2 (well, for more than 2 minutes total), but have read much about them, and have been anticipating GT3 since 10/26/00 (along with the next MGS and FF). Now, I've played *many* racing games, from Mario Kart, to Need For Speed, to even a little of F1...so even though I heard of the steep learning curve, I expected it to be OK after a while.
Well, after getting the game yesterday morning (I got lucky ;p ), I spent the next 2 hours just in awe of of the graphics and how much "stuff" there is to do with regards to your car and such. So today I pick it up again, and for a good period of 2 hours, I almost decided I hated this game. The Miata I bought sucked...the amount of money you get for winning the early races was beyond measley...and I sucked. But I kept on going, and bought an Acura Integra Type R (heh..remember that guy in OT who had this car that everyone hated?) and left it at stock, since I had no funds left over (well actually I bought some ugly rims

). At first, the car was barely faster than my Miata, but after a couple races, I bought some good tires, lightened up the car one level, and bought two Turbo levels.
I absolutley love this game
I guess I got over "the hump" or the curve

The first 4 hours or so of this game were really slow. It was just frustrating. But now that I have a good car, and have upped my skills, this game is above all. And I'm only something like 8% complete!!!
Just a little tip for n00bs like me who might get frustrated at the start
P.S. Besides turbo kits, what are some of the best upgrades to get?
