The official Hurricane Gustav Thread

The other Gustav Thread got locked, but it looks like this storm may affect quite a few people around here, so I'm making a new one. Please respect the forum rules and be nice.

08/31 1800 - Feeder Band
08/31 1815 - Feeder Band (holy crap)
09/01 1230 - Obviously I was a little worried about my trees
09/02 2218 - 700K+ without power in Louisiana. No time table. Authorities are asking people to stay away if possible. Little gasoline is in the affected area.

08/31 12:35 - Hurricane Warning issued for central Gulf Coast
08/30 17:51 - Interstate 10 Eastbound into Mississippi is almost at a standstill. One possibility is to take I-59 north to MS-26 and head East to US-98 into Mobile if you really must go that way.

Louisiana has already declared a state of emergency. I can't say I blame them though, that thing does look like it's gunning for the state.

what happened to the old one?

It got locked due to bad behavior.

It peed on the rug. 😛

Seriously, looks like Louisiana's new governor is dead set on not repeating the mistakes of his predecessor.

Looks like it is heading right towards Baton Rouge. At least Saturday's game is still on 😛

Mobile will still be in the northeast corner of the storm, so even though some of the track has shifted west, we will still get hit pretty hard. Time to go top off the generators and check the chainsaw.

Have you had problems with gas lines? Gas has gone up $.20+ in the last few days.

I live in Mississippi and gas went up from $3.35 yesterday to as high as $3.71 today.

Let the price gouging begin.

That's not possible though.

Drop it. Don't drag this thread into the hells that the last one went.

Well, as of 11PM Eastern, this thing looks like it's heading towards West/Central LA. Even GFDL is on board: Link

GFDL is correct when, never? I mean come on.
