Not true! Those of us who just got one still have not been issued invites to share. Read the past posts in this thread. It takes a few days for invites to appear. At the start of this thread there were lots to give out. I'm sure that once those of us who have gotten an account will gladly share with the rest of the AT family. I just got my invite courtesy of MONEYSHOT. I will share as well when I get some as will others.
 
The whole invites thing isn't automatic or following any known rules. My buddy got one 4 days ago. He still doesn't have any invites and he's used the account a couple times each day since. I got one 3 days ago and have 30-40 messages in my account. Still no invites.

Just be patient or go to Ebay and buy one. Think of all the time some of you folks are wasting trying to get a gmail account. You'll get the account, open it up, say "How cool," and then realilze how much time you wasted on something you probably didn't need in the first place.

That said, when I get invites, I'll post some here. I like AT and I'll give back whenever I can.

well said. some of you have stayed up well past 1am EST in hopes of an invite. seriously, how many of you are in *desperate* need of 1 gig? IMO, Yahoo should serve you well until Gmail is out of beta phase. having said that, i will also give out my invites as soon as i can get some.

Possibly a stupid question, but does anyone know if they are going to wipe all the accounts before going "Live"? It would kind of make sense, and give everyone a level playing field for the account name they want to use. Just a thought.

I haven't seen the offical word, but I'd bet my life savings that will not happen.

doubtful. so many people will lose their emails! no way this will happen.

No they aren't. They say you will keep the name you have during the beta test after the beta is over. One of the perks of being in the beta test I guess.

They cant wipe out existing accounts. But at some point this is simply a big pyramid scheme...they will have to stop the invites as the numbers grow exponentially....and soon. Then you'll have to wait until they go live to the public.

Suggestion to you wannabe gmailers, if you are a member of any other forums, ask there too - I got mine from a fan club that I'm a member of . . . .
