how u mean they steal invite. If u send invite to the person who do pm to u and how can other steal that

er he means indirectly, by taking up a 'space' that could've otherwise gone to a more vet member.

Just a follow-up for moneyshot:

It looks like the invite you sent me was already used by someone named <removed at the request of my wife>. I appreciate all your generosity, though, and I'll keep looking around. The thread's been helpful and I'll keep looking--thanks! 🙂

well i think there r some newly joined member which gave invites why this discrimination

How is it discrimination? He has a right to give an INVITE to anyone wants to give one to. Besides, he wants to give invites to members of AT that have contributed to the community (thus no lurkers), and been here a while (to weed out people who are only here for invites, haven't contributed, or he just feels like giving them to whoever he darn well pleases 🙂 )

EDIT: btw, aggravating someone who is generously giving out invites is a surefire way *not* to get one 🙂

POP/SMTP access allows you to use an email client like outlook/otlook express/thunderbird/eudora/etc... as far as i know, gmail doesn't provide pop access, and is solely web-based (pop access would kinda defeat the purpose of the 1gb storage anyway, no?)

well to make ur hotmail account work u not need to put anything ur hotmail and msn accounts r by default wud work in outlook express

well yeh thats his right to chooe and whom so ever he wanna give invites to. I not have any prob. with it. but i was thinking whoever first come and send the pm gets the invite.

well if i dont put anything in those 2 blanks then it wont let me continue. I am trying to transfer all my hotmail emails to my gmail btw.

I been here longer than most of you all... where's my invite?! Just kidding, don't really need one, I'm happy with what I have. I already got a hotmail account with my name before anyone else snatched it up and I don't even use it much. I like keeping my email local anyway.

...although a gmail account would be nice...

I've had a gmail account for more than 3 days now and still have not gotten any invites to give away. What's up with that?
