I haven't ever recieved invites on my gmail account, neither has my sister. Both of us have had accounts for around three weeks.

OVER 3 weeks now, and still no more invites to give out, gee it was nice getting them last month to pass out, but it looks like they shut it down for a while

same here. maybe even more than 3 weeks for me.
 
I've been seeing the invite link appear while reading my received emails. It is only happening on my main (and most busy) account tho, not all of the accounts I have. Look out for the red link when you receive emails in gmail.
