Has there been a decline recently in the number of invites gmail is giving out?

I have gotten 6+1 so far in the close to 2 weeks that I have had the account!

Anyone else care to comment?

It seems like the Invites, are drying up.
The Rumor on ebay, ( which is getting less and less posted up, and the price is rising again ), is that, this is Gmails way of putting an end to the sale of them.

I haven't received any invites in awhile now

Seems that the invites have stopped coming...I wouldn't doubt if gmail goes public in the next ~3 days..

That would be so funny. You know some people paid for acounts on ebay. Not me, I came here and someone threw me a bone after begging for 10 hours. I tried the gmail machine but after clicking 4 thousand times.....ah who cares. Just wait 3 days and anyone can get an account.

Yeah I should have. But I didn't make an account until just now. I only come to this forum to glance at deals and read what people have written about the deals. I have yet needed to register to talk on the forums till now!!! I had to make one so I could get my hands on this free gmail!!! It sounds awesome!! Please help me out if anyone can, thanks in advance

Most n00bs will disappear once they get their invites.. i will have some available later on, but only to members that have been around since 6/2003 or that have given me heat.

Stay tuned...

FYI - not all "n00bs" just "disappear" once they get an invite. I'm still here after all! Seriously, a lot of ppl have likely 'been around' for a bit but not yet had cause to actually register an acct - like me until a couple days ago - but they still help the stats of the site to keep ad dollars rolling in and covering the cost of the service for those who do register!;-)

Obviously, to each his (or her) own huh? I mean, some ppl simply have different "standards" (like only to members of a certain period) - but for my part, if/when I get some invites to pass along (rumor has it that the invites have stopped being given by google?), I'll pass them along here to newbies and oldies alike. You'll just have to answer an obscure skill testing question!

If anyone has an extra invite please send it my way??? 😀

BTW...I have been here for a long time too but I can't seem to sign in under my old username.

I can't say whether google changed the frequency they are giving out invites, but I can give my experience. Once I got a gmail account it took 5 days to get any invites. The first batch was 6 for each account I had (2), then the next time I rec'd 1 invite for each account. I am hoping to get a few more soon (gave my last one out here) and if I do I'll share here.

I've had my account for a week and have yet to receive any invites. I think Google has stopped sending them out. I've clicked on everything in my gmail account to try and find the elusive invite link. No such luck.
