So guys, tell me something: is F5 worth getting an Xbox One for? I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on one and selling both my 360's. Right now the big reasons to switch would be Titan Fall and Forza 5.

My concern is I read some of the initial user reviews that bitched heavily over the BS way you have to get cars. That it takes a LOT LOT LOT of racing to earn enough credits to get cars and even the ones you get if you buy a limited edition require you to buy them in your own garage, again those credits you have to earn (or pay real money for - WTF).

How bad is that in reality now? I don't typically want the stupid expensive high end cars, but I do want a wide selection of my favorite cars to play with and have fun with. If it is incredibly tedious or expensive to be able to get those (mostly a selection of mid to high end Subaru's, BMWs, and domestics; I'm not a pasta fan), then that would really kill this game for me and lead me to consider avoiding the XB1 for now.

I think the PS4 is probably the better overall gaming console right now, and I have ZERO use for Kinect, but Titan Fall and F5 are a big deal to me. I never got into the big PS franchises.

Hey! You sound like me with the Xbox One, the reason I wanted it was for Forza, and then a good solid shooter (Titanfall, which I'm actually getting on the PC now!).

-As far as Forza 5 is - there is a rumor circulating MS is going to offer up a bundle at the same price point WITH forza included so you might want to see if this actually happens - then you can get the season pass-this is a must for this game - I hate to admit it but the car content is rather light when you take a look at the Forza selection - and like you, I enjoy a variety of cars. Out of the gate, the game offers a great selection but some key players appear to be missing - most notable, some of my favorite generations of VWs! There are some great B, C and D class cars though, my favorite to race online by far- in any case, personally, I think the game is a great Forza, and is like Forza 4 plus if you ask me - the tracks will be coming over time, and the online really works well. I haven't had any issues. And the feedback with the triggers is fantastic.

And for credits vs real money - you can get all the cars using in game credits and I have a pile of extra credits - 11 million last time I checked and my game clock is somewhere around the 50 hour + mark.

Is it worth dropping $500? I bought it so I want to say yes! Right now, there is enough game content with Titanfall and Forza to keep you busy for a really long time. I would argue Forza alone will hold you over for a few years if you play online. I know Forza 4 did that for me.

If you want a racing game, there really is no alternative. I play both the GT series, Forza and the PC offerings, but nothing really comes close with a full great, accessible package of driving options for the car enthusiast. Not to mention the nice little update to the Xbox One interface, the recording feature is great, I enjoy it.

As for me .... I hate all this extra content at a price stuff. I want to pay $X for a game and have the entire game. 50 hours of Forza game time is not bad if that gives enough credits for almost everything. 100 hours though ... that should give me everything in earned credits.

Building credits to get stuff is fine so long as it is reasonable. I had a game I liked for my smartphone but I could not advance as far as I would like because the credit scheme got unfair as the game went on. They wanted something like $20 for a bunch of credits and even that was not enough credits to get everything. I pretty much stopped playing it and deleted it from my phone.

Well, eventually I'll have my XBone. before that time though, I need a nice entertainment console and a new 60" TV.

Yeah I saw that news about the bundle with F5, thanks for the warning guys :) But if I buy, I will get the Titan Fall bundle with 1 month Gold card for $499 from MS Store (no tax or shipping). I can get F5 used around $35 right now it seems.

I did some more reading and it seems F5 backed off a little bit and adjusted the credit situation. Also didn't I see something about 2x accelerated progress for season pass holders, or is that just people with VIP status?

If I can play casually and still get my fun cars (Subaru's, Vettes, other good bang for the buck cars) without TONS of churn, I'm okay with that.

Last question for now - does moving stuff over from the F3/F4 help any? I didn't play F4 much, got too sucked into the COD world. But I played some and I played F3 a lot more.

You get free credits for your past gameplay. So if you played Forza 3 and 4 you will get like 3,000,000 credits for free(I just got another 300,000 free credits from them). You just need to go to the website https://rewards.forzamotorsport.net/en-us/redeem I pretty much got every car in the game I wanted in about a week. Some of them were gifted but I bought the McLaren P1, McLaren F1, Hennessey Venom GT, Chevy Dallara DW12 Indy car, Nissan GTR Black edition, Pagani Cinque Roadster, LaFerrari, and the classic Plymouth Barricuda and Mustang Boss 302 without a ton of play time. You can spend the virtual currency on XP boosts but I only did that with the ones I received free from the VIP pack. Otherwise you have to buy the coins which I'd never do...you get enough XP as it is and the game throws credits at you. Use one car a lot and you get tons of manufacturer bonus credits, every level up gives you like 36k free as well.

What about parts upgrades? I seem to remember in F4 once you ranked up a car in a certain mfr to a certain level you could get upgrades for cheap or free. Do the usual upgrades like suspensions bankrupt you?

Most upgrades are relatively cheap. I think I upgraded the P1 fully for under 20k except I didn't do the drivetrain swap. It's not bad at all for upgrades, some people think the cars cost too much like the McLaren F1 cost I believe 1.3mil off the top of my head.

upgrades are no longer free but they're quite cheap in the scheme of things. I never feel starved for credits.

any interest in starting up a racing night again, even if it's only monthly?

Did i see BestBuy had the Discount Bone with Forenza for the same discount as the Titanfall pack?

Yeah, both were $450, though the ad yesterday showed the Titanfall bundle back at $500. The Microsoft Store still has it at $450 for each bundle, though.

thanks, no way was i paying $100 for kinect and the lesser HP console, but $50 off and a $50 game (a game i want, no interest COD with mechs with 1/4 the people matches, these are opinions) Forza and a $400 bone.. now I'm interested, be hitting BB tonight.

Is target still running their special where you get the console, titanfall, and 12 months of live for $450?
