Oh, another quick post about newegg (sorry for 3 posts in a row).

The P5W DH Deluxe is apparently in stock.

http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=13-131-025

Yes it is! I just got the notification email.

But I ordered the board from here:

http://www.antaresdigital.com/customer/product.php?productid=17241&cat=0&page=

Less expensive than newegg, already processed order. Though they may run out soon if everyone goes to them.

Do you work for them or something ? They have 2 reviews on resellerratings in the last 6 months. I would never buy from a place like that.

I second, third and fourth that. F screwegg in their arse! I got my CPU from ZZF and my DQ6 from eWiz. I am super impressed with eWiz. Ordered my DQ6 on Tuesday, it shipped (UPS ground) on the same day and got here 1 hour ago!

Bye Bye screwegg!

I have a total of exactly one post referencing them. What makes you think I work for them?

If you just looked back a page or two, you'll see someone suggestiong antaresdigital for a P5W before I did.

For the people who are going with the better value 6300 get a Gigabyte DQ6 and good memory and you too can get a FSB of 500MHz!
http://vr-zone.com/?i=3848

Yes thats a 2GHz PSB! With this you can do 1M PI in the low 12sec! for a $200 CPU WOW! My Pentium D805 OC'ed to 4GHz does 1M PI in 33sec

:)

What's up the everybody bashing NewEgg. Yeah yeah they are charging a lot for the new Core 2 Duo's but what you are doing is unnecessary and uncalled for.

I personally don't have any complaints with NewEgg, but since they have a distribution center here in my state, I get charged slaes tax with them. So I do a lot of business with ZZF, and even a little with Ewiz, both of which offer great prices and good service.

For those looking for the best deals, there is just no reason to shop exclusively at NewEgg. These days, they hardly offer the best price on many products.

If nobody complains, then it sends the message that overcharging is ok. Even though NewEgg has higher prices on the Core 2 chips, they still will sell out, because 1) Some unsavvy consumers simply TRUST newegg to have a fair price and don't browse elsewhere (and in this case that trust is being violated), and 2) Businesses that have corporate accounts with NewEgg will simply pay it. IT managers don't care that it costs more because it's not coming out of their pocket.

We, the enthusiasts, are the watchdogs of this industry. Without word of mouth (forums, review sites, etc) the online vendors could do whatever they want.

Does this mean I will no longer shop from NewEgg? Of course not, they've had my business before and will have it again. But I don't have to kiss thir a$$ either.

I still prefer to shop at Newegg. Their prices (not on brand-new hot items) are decent (not the lowest, but close). The reason I shop with them is that their customer service, in my experience, is superb. And none of this "in stock but won't ship for two weeks" stuff; if it's listed as in stock, that means they have it in the warehouse.
I won't pay $100 extra just to buy an E6600 from them (I have one on preorder from TigerDirect for $370, it should ship today or tomorrow), so I just take my dollars elsewhere, instead of crying foul. It's a free market; they can charge whatever they want, and we can take our dollars wherever we want, so vote with your wallet, instead of bitching about it.

First, may I point out that almost everything on this forum is unnecessary. It is mostly just unqualified opinions and asking questions that have been discussed in previous posts.
Second, I'm pissed at NewEgg not so much for the crazy prices but for posting those ludicrous "what a great price, I love NewEgg" descriptions that both violate their policy of not talking about prices in reviews and were most likely created by NewEgg given the fact that they were published so quickly.
Oh ya, when I called to tell that the item description was incorrect (4mb L2 cache on the E6300) they told me to call Intel and talk to them about it!
Hence I'll take my business to ZZF for a while.

Just ordered my ASUS p5b from ZZF with 2gb of DDR2 800 Corsair XMS RAM

And a 7900gt KO from NewEgg.

All great deals.

Now waiting on e6600 next week! :)

....calling ASUS now to get a bios chip sent to me too

JUST got off the phone with ASUS:

the P5B isn't like the P5W, the bios is built into it, so the tech guy said it WILL post, but needs a usb disk with the updated bios to be loaded thru EZFLASH on the motherboard holding down L and F2. Then ezflash loads the bios update off the usb disk, updates it.

Then Core 2 Duo is ready to roll.

can anyone verify this on their P5B?

Sweet, I could have just done that rather than waiting a week for my BIOS chip. Regardless, my E6600 will be here by tuesday at the latest!

It makes me wonder if this was really a coincidence that they both flashed in like this. I bet there's a lot more collaboration than we imagine between all those supposedly competing major e-tailors.

I can't believe newegg is ripping people off like this. They had the price at $419, but not in stock awhile ago.

I ordered one from Fry's Outpost which is supposed to ship on the 14th. I'm debating whether or not to get this. (I have to pay sale's tax in GA, but even with that and next day shipping it is only $390).

Update from TigerDirect: shipments of the E6600 (both retail and OEM packages) will not be arriving until tomorrow (Friday 8/11).

Just called fry's outpost because I had an order in with them. I was 59th on the backorder list, and they were only receiving 35 on the 18th (even though website says ships the 14th).

Cancelled my order and just got the tigerdirect one. $30 more, but I should have it Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

I called Buy.com and asked about the E6600 I ordered and they said it is in stock but it will take 1 to 2 weeks to ship at the maximum. I wasn't completely confident in that answer but that is what they said.

Tigerdirect says they have the E6600 in stock but it's only a 1 year warranty. I thought all retail CPUs would be the same 3 years (?)
