Sales taxed states

At the local stores they do not honor web-price, saying if you order on the web with in-store pickup, they'll be delivering it to the store anyway, and will charge extra.
Total BS, but this is what I got from them.

Anyone recommend a decent heat sink that is quiet and fit's the e6600 and asus p5w dh?

I think I might just take the OEM, and use the 50-100$ to buy a good heatsink.

I bought mine local, and im just gonna wait till the 28th to pick it up.

As far as new egg goes, did anyone else notice that the E6300 is still listed as having 4M of L2 while the E6400 is listed as having 2 ?
I feel as though NewEgg has just botched this up uber-bad. I got my E6600 for 380 bucks in store and it comes with their on call people who look at parts and help you fix them and all of that nice stuff.

This is un-acceptable! I call for a boycott of Newegg. There is no excuse for this. If it is indeed a mistake (yah right) then it is still un-acceptable. They knew the C2D were coming and if they made a price AND description mistake then I do not want to deal with a Mickey mouse company.

For shame Newegg for shame. I will never be doing business with you again.

Just to clarify: the ZZF offer for the E6600 is gouged up a bit, no? I thought it was going to go for $320...

I'm using the cheapest/quitest Cooler Master I could find until I start water cooling this thing. It was $8+shipping (NewEgg doesn't have it instock now but you can see the reviews) and it fits my P5W DH Deluxe. It claims to have a rather high CFM and only 28 dB.

tigerdirect is also OEM though (at least I didn't see a retail version), and their price is no better than Microcenter's. ZZF and buy.com are the only guys I've seen that are offering really good (but hypothetical) deals on the 6600s.

Hey guys, I was thinking I would get my 6400 at Frys Because they had them listed on the site for 259 bux. I get to the store and theres a big yellow sign hanging up that says "Just in! Intel core 2 duos! E6400 299.99"

The bait and switch thing is lame.

Just thought ya'll might wanna know.

The Tuniq Tower 120 is getting really good reviews, but they're a bit difficult to find right now.

No suprise, and no bait and switch. Fry's and Outpost.com are the same company, but they will tell you they are separate market chains, and they do not necessarily offer the same prices at the B&M's and online.

I have to say that I wouldn't have been surprised if NewEgg had posted the E6600 at close to $400 and then dropped the price later this week when other companies get some in stock but the E6300 at that price! Plus the mistake in the description and the $10 price difference between the E6300 and E6400 makes me think that this is a huge fvckup. It just isn't rational and I can't explain why they haven't at least corrected the listing. They've lost my business for a while unless they have an excuse like we were individually scanning the huge shipment of E6600s that we are going to post at a competitive price, which is why we didn't fix the error immediately.

It's not an error, get over it. And I guarantee the reason they aren't "fixing" it, is they are getting sales at that price. I wouldn't be surprised if they are close to selling out what they have at those prices

Last I checked Intel does not make an E6300 with a 4MB L2 Cache so at least part of it is an error. Plus, the pricing is really weird but there may be lemmings buying them. However, I doubt they wouldn't have noticed that ZZF has a lot better prices and had stock well before NewEgg.

For what it's worth, newegg is slowly making corrections to some of the other issues noted:

- E6300 cach is no longer reported as 4 MB
- E6300 and E6400 cores are listed as "Conroe", previously was "Allendale"

...prices, however, remain the same.

8/16 looks to be the day for ample supply of 6300/6400
8/25 for the higher models.......

The sad thing is the E6300 is probably the best value. And right now ZZF is making the Egg look like an ass.

I thought the 2MB models were Allendale.
