If you read this thread then you should have learned that ASUS is also sending out (for free) new BIOS chips that are flashed to a later version and you can just pop them in (BIOS is socketed) and then hot flash the old BIOS leaving you with a backup as everyonce in a while a BIOS chip will die on you. They don't even ask for your serial number so when you order your P5W DH Deluxe just call ASUS the same day and tell them to send you one with free ground shipping and it will arrive within a day of your mother board, it might even beat it there.

The E6300 and E6400 are both ~$20-25 overpriced at the cheapest vendors. You guys come get me when the Retail E6300 is available shipped for under $200 or the Retail E6400 shipped for under $240. Until then, these jokers (the e-tailers) can wait. I have all the time in the world. 
A ~10% markup at time of launch really isn't that bad (despite the fact that living in CA means that I also have to pay a 7.5% surcharge for some reason called the "state sales tax" on everything I buy online from the likes of newegg and most other places...damned backwards Internet tax laws in this state), but things like these $400+ E6600's are just obscene. I'd settle for a $330 one though, and even a $350 one isn't too terribly unreasonable (for those of you that don't have the 7.5% surcharge I do).

I was there on the 27th and I suppose I'll stick around for the 7th. I just don't want to fall asleep at 5 o'clock EST and have NewEgg post them in the morning while I sleep.

You wont see that price for a few months. Anyway I just ordered the 6300 for $219 and will be putting it in the Gigabyte DQ6. I am hopeing I can get the little pup up to 3ghz overclocked and Prime stable.

I think he was saying $324 with free shipping would be nice. For the next month or so you most likely will not see prices like that.

There are a lot worse things. Plus my girlfriend stayed up with me last time. A few good movies, some icre cream and other such distractions. I even forgot to check a few times.

Unfortunately I'm old enough to have to work so I can't enjoy things like staying up late on a work night (ie every night preceeding a work day (ie, Sun night through Thurs night)) let alone staying up overnight.
They may be or they may not, the official embargo date it the 7th and several people have claimed to have been told by NewEgg and ZZF that they will begin selling them on the 7th which could either be a little past midnight where ever the store is located or when they arrive in the morning. I personally think that several etailers will be selling some E6600s tomorrow although that is pure speculation. It also makes since for the etailers (if they have a decent supply) to put them up at midnight as it increase their sales and gets them to the most dedicated (and the damn British for whom it will be morning).
To be honest, as a student at MIT and someone who ranked 7th at a National Statistics Competition I have no idea what will happen. As geek who will be up at 4AM EST I think that ZZF or NewEgg will start selling them tonight.

I ordered a retail e6700 on 7/27. ClubIT said it was in stock, but could not be shipped until the 7th due to Intel's rules. They maintained this story up until Friday the 4th. On Friday, I got a phone call from them saying that they only received OEM e6700s from Intel and that retail e6700s have been delayed. They won't be shipping me anything on Monday. So obviously, they never actually had the retail e6700 in stock despite what they said on the phone and on their website. Just FYI.
