It was fun bonding with all you other fellow nerds who have no lives.

*laugh*

Yeah, I off as well, glad to know I am not alone in my nerdness. See you in the "I got my Conroe" forums tomorrow...I mean later today. 🙂

G'Night all!

I've been poking around, and here's the schedule that *might* (that's a shaky educated guess, mind you) happen tomorrow:
- 10:00am PST: Intel announces retail availability
- 12:00pm PST: retail availability goes LIVE and IN STOCK

revised...as requested...

The title of the TigerDirect CPU page is so tantalizing: "CPU, Intel CPU, AMD CPU, Intel Core 2 Duo Processors, Athlon 64 X2 AM2 Processor"
It's not bloody fair...I wants a Conroe...I should give my wish a pet name...

Who needs a conroe when the price of a Athlon 64 FX-62 AM2 is now only $827!!!!! Thanks Intel for finally making this AWSOME CPU fall into my price range. Hope you all have fun trying to get a C2D!

Yeah.... I was joking.... and I am not funny.... Sorry. Well I might have found some grade A ICE for all you late night tweakers gnawing your fingernails to the nub looking your CPU fix. Check out saucertek's web page! They got all of the conroe's up there, but it still seems to good to be true. I ordered myself one and I know this page is new cause goggle's spider hasn't even picked it up. Saucertek has pretty good customer service and will cancel an order immediately (when they get there in the morning) if it is not really in stock.

Ill be playing with my new MCF52234 processor until the sun comes up and I can be sure my baby is on her way. It is killing me to watch my P5W DH and all the other $2000 dollars worth of electronic crap sit around without a brain. LATER YALL

Thanks LBalls. I ordered an e6600 and an ASROCK ConRoeXFire-eSATA2. I will call in the morning to see if they actually have them.

That's a joke though. If you look at the E6400 page, it says "Est.Retail Price:
$272.95" and they're charging "only" $255. The MSRP is $224, unless something has changed.

There's also no secured connection at the checkout. Buyer beware.

when entering CC info it is a secure connection...

I didn't go that far. It's good to know that there's at least security for the credit card information. Though I'd still prefer to have my personal information secure too.

E6600 & E6700 available at Atacom, but expect to pay out of your a$$

Yeah, I just looked and they are listing the e6600 at $399.95. 🙁 I imagine that there will be a lot of price scalping going on today too. I've also noticed that Newegg has been scalping on hard to find items too. A case in point is the P5W DH Dlx. Newegg wants $270 plus shipping, but they have it in stock. Tankguys also has it in stock now too and they are selling the same mobo for $245. And Tankguys is a much smaller operation than Newegg, so their aquisition costs are most certainly higher too. It's a shame to see Newegg getting so predatory on their pricing.

EDIT: Just checked again and Tankguys has now sold out on the P5W DH boards. I guess that if you aren't trying to screw everyone with high prices that your product moves well.

That's a nice price. I'll have to remember that.

Looks like there may be a wait... Intel plans to ship the CPUs in early August:

TOKYO, July 27 (Reuters) - Intel Corp. (INTC.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Thursday it plans to start shipping new processors for desktop and laptop computers in August, betting the energy-saving chips would help the world's largest semiconductor maker regain share from rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

yeah Newegg is selling the e6800 EE for $1,359.99 ...damn i could only imagine how much they will sell the lower models for ...

How long until we see Core 2 based laptops? That's while I'll be waiting for. Hopefully we'll end up with products with much better battery life.

I thought this is what was originally stated anyway.. August 7th was the date that was given when most retailers should start to see the CPU's trickle in, OEM & retail box wise..
