How do quarters work? Do you guys just split the year up even further so that you take classes for 2 months, then switch, then 2 months, and then repeat for Jan/Feb/Mar/Apr ? I think I might like that better than going for 4 straight months. Although, if you needed something that you took in the first quarter for a class in the fourth quarter of a given school year, you might end up forgetting some of the stuff. I love taking spring and summer classes that are only 7 weeks long, it feels so good to just settle into a class after a few weeks and then realize that the class is already half over 🙂 . The only thing that can be somewhat unbearable is the lengthy class times.

cs132 compiler design
econ 103 econometrics (basically a really easy class about statistics that any engineer could pass in their sleep but the econ major kids seem to think is very hard because it has math in it)

i'm on quarters... that above is 17 units (rather oddly the mentally retarded econ103 is 5 units.. haha)
i work 17 hours a week as a well server monkey basically.
and i am an ebay power seller, selling random computer equipment to the uninformed masses (mostly video cards lately)

semesters are about 2 sessions of 15 weeks each right?

well quarter system is 3 sessions of 10 weeks each. one quarter during the fall before christmas break. and another 2 quarters after winter break.

with the semester sytem being 15 weeks before and after the winter break, thats why semester students start school earlier than quarter based students (15 weeks to finish as oppossed to 10), but they end earlier than quarter students for the spring (2 x 10 weeks vs 15 weeks).

anyways, in terms of units, i believe the semester unit is equal to 2/3 a quarter unit. or the converse which is a quarter unit is eqaul to 3/2 a semester unit.
