Yup, theres an IGN article out. Just go to the gamecube section. Once this feature is fully implemented think how abosultey awesome this will be. Being able to transfer data back and forth so that you can take your gaming on the go. I can't wait till games take advantage of this.

OMFG Metroid is 1337. I'm like shivering because its freaky scary. How the heck do I kill those little buggers that splat on my face?! I just died, the place blew up on me. Gah, want to play some more, but gotta go to class!

The levels are so huge and OHHH the graphics!!!

Some of my favorite effects thus far are the rain on your visor and the way the charged up energy shot warps the area around it.

Oh man. I played for almost 5 hours straight...what an amazing game. Just finished off the boss in the Chocho Ruins...took awhile to figure out how to beat him, but once I got going, he was easy.

This is THE BEST game for GC yet.

I do. And I did like this game in the demo.

All the talk with XBOX live and I'm thinking of making that jump, I however cannot justify having both consoles. I still have a dreamcast that I actually use more than the GC.

For the first 20 minutes of the game I was either looking around at the ship and shooting asteroids or rolling around in a ball on the opening platform. You guys finish levels in games so fast This game is such a contrast to the other game I got going now, GTA VC.

Ordinarily, I prefer the dual analog control scheme (left: aim, right: move), but it's just not an option in Metroid Prime because all the controls are assigned. To allow the player to create a move/freelook control scheme would mean that either the scan visor or beam weapon selection interface would need to allow for a toggle by cycling interface (because if you give up either the D-pad or camera stick which currently allows direct selection, your only option to allow the user to make those selections is to assign them to a button somewhere). And I'm guessing that later in the game, the ability to switch visors and beam weapons efficiently is a whole lot more important than being able to look around.

I especially love the way alternate pathways are patently obvious -- except that you almost always lack the appropriate ability to use it when you first encounter it. Exploring to find powerups is essential to open sections of the game, and you want to try all of the alternate paths because one of them might contain a powerup. Brilliant design.

The best part is that I could finally use the $10 discount card that I got for preordering Star Fox Adventures, so I got it for $43 after tax (and I still have one left over to use for Zelda next year). It would have been worth it at full price, though.

How would prefer the controls work?

Like every other well-behaved console FPS (Timesplitters, Halo, etc)

This isnt a First Person Shooter. The Levels arent designed like FPS. The feel isnt like a FPS. The only thing in common is the view but even then that isnt constant due to morph ball mode when ya go into 3rd person....

This game actually feels inovative......

I just got the thermal Visor and it KICKS ASS!!! This game is definetly going to be on my most favorite games ever list.


I still get the feeling like its a space Zelda game (which isn't a bad thing at all) I need to put together a list of comparisons...

lets see:

-different environments each with their own specific music
-The way you aim is just like aiming of a bow in Zelda
-Normal, Ice, Fire, and Light (Wave), Beams or Arrows
-Metroid: Different Visors Zelda: Different Outfits
-Gather weapon upgrades and suit upgrades
-Make your way in open environments and tunnels
-Boss at each area that has a weakness that you expose over and over till death
-Ice world, Fire world, Tree world
-While fighting boss you are given boxes (jars) which contain heath and ammo
-both have an auto targeting system that tell you information about the object
-Chime noise after completing a puzzle or opening new area


Now I know a lot of this can be attributed to these types of games in general but I just keep getting the same feel I got when playing Ocarina of Time. Which ROCKS!!!

I explored EVERY DOOR that I can enter... but I cannot go anywhere else....

I found the entrance to magmar ruins, but cannot do anything since doesnt have the thermal suit on

hints??/

I think you need to fight a boss to acquire the morph ball bombs. I think there is one area where you have to use the scan to locate and unlock 4 symbols to open a gate to further your journey.

WOOOOOO just beat the game at 78% and 14:27 hours

The end is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY freaking hard



btw there are 3 different endings <74% 74-99% and 100%

now to go back and collect and scan everything I missed

Once you beat the boss on the Chozo Ruins, you get the Varia Suit. Then you can go to magamor.

This game is utterly evil. It takes me several tries to formulate a working strategy to beat a boss, a few more tries to actually execute it, and then you're rewarded with a shiny new powerup. Then the first thing I want to do is try out some of those locked locations that are suddenly accessible to me, and I go and get myself killed.

Save points early, save points often.

The boss I just beat literally rocks.

I think I got stuck in the exact same place zomb13. I think you need to go into the room where the is the malfunctioning water pump (in chozo ruins). Its the room where you walk through a bunch of pipes blowing smoke to get to. anyways, above the entrance (nearest to the water pump) is a ledge you can jump up onto and proceed to climb all the way up to another door which leads you to a place where you get morph ball bombs... I hope that helped
PS i just beat it tonight and the ending was amazing. Can't wait to see the 100% ending
