it's not rotisserie chicken, it's wood fired peruvian rotisserie chicken; > american style rotisserie chicken for several reasons:

1) wood fired
2) peruvian dry rub on chicken
3) aji sauce, which is far superior to any american style hot sauce

1) wood fire is not special. Pretty much all Southern BBQ is done with wood fire. And in Asia, restaurants still use wood to cook rotisserie chicken.
2) Southern BBQ rub on chicken is great too
3) give me good BBQ sauce.

There's some chicken shacks all along the road here In Puerto Plata selling wood fired chicken and lechon and it's amazing....Filipino lechon is better though...still gotta try Puerto Rican lechon....

That crispy baby pig skin is sinfully good, had something like this at Xmas last year...

Oakland Berkeley El Cerrito has tons of amazing food--particularly Oakland. South Bay is pretty awesome, too, but it's more suburby and you have to prowl strip malls. The only problem I have had with any Bay Area food is Mexican. The selection of Mexican food is alarmingly weak. (granted, SF and Oakland have some winners, but overall it's the weakest cuisine in that area. Oh Italian--no fricking Italian)

Yea that's the issue I'm seeing here in the Bay Area, you have to go to certain areas for good Mexican food. You get spoiled when you grow up in the LA area and you can get it in any city you're in. I haven't found a good Italian food place either other than going inside super SF where everything is expensive.

BK Homestyle Cheeseburger:

https://www.bk.com/menu-item/homestyle-cheeseburger

Super meh. It's their $1 burger, but the size (width) of a Whopper. 550 cals, 30g protein, 48g carbs, 27g fat.

BK Cheetos Chicken Fries:

https://www.bk.com/menu-item/cheetos-chicken-fries

I'll preface this by saying I don't like BK chicken fries to begin with. I like the chicken rings way better. But hey, Cheetos. I think mine were over-fried, a little bit too crispy (re: tree bark). Flavor kicks in after a few seconds, but you go flavor blind within a fry or two. The picture has sauce (ranch?); I didn't get any sauce. I maxed out like 3 fries in & donated the rest to my coworkers haha. Personally would not buy again, but I had to do it in the name of ATOT Science ;) 280 cals, 14g protein, 16g carbs, 18g fat.

Had a quarter pounder with cheese add big mac sauce for the first time in my life. Not going to lie, it was a lot better than I had expected it to be. That's probably also only the 3rd or 4th quarter pounder I've ever had in my life.

In other news...

Jersey Mike's #13, +mayo +relish. Is there a better mass produced sandwich? I think not.

Del Taco, The Del Taco
A taco twice as expensive as their value taco, I was pleasantly surprised. It is reminiscent of the TB Taco Supremes of old. It's all about that fine grated cheese.

As in McDonalds quarter-pounder or quarter-pounders in general?

First time for the McD 1/4. I'd go back for it.

**Disclaimer - I was really fucking hungry and may or may not have been prop64 enabled before eating said burger.

Jersey Mike's is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the sandwich arena.
Don't even fucking come at me with that Subway bullshit.

If you have one near you definitely try Elevation Burger. Some serious good chow in there and kicks Five Guy's ass (not like that's particularly challenging).

Yes, anything from Potbelly. Jersey Mike's is just way too expensive for what you get, and many of them these days are really hit or miss. I mean, I've been in to a few of them recently and you could easily confuse them for an Arby's the way they manage those franchises now, and the way their sandwiches look. :D It wasn't always like that, though.

I have one really close and have been meaning to try it out. Keep forgetting.

...and I meant to bump this thread some weeks ago, because I finally tried Pollo Campero. A new one opened up a few blocks from me. The 4 piece chicken with 2 sides is really the best deal, and actually cheaper to buy 2 of those than the 8 pieces + 2 sides combo (You also get 2 more sides...for less!). You can mix the chicken styles.

The roasted isn't terrible, but it isn't special. At least, compared to the local wood or coal-fired peruvian chicken joints that litter the area, it really isn't worth it. The fried chicken is GREAT though. really enjoy it. Not so much the sides...little variety, nothing amazing.

I still have not tried out the new McD's bigger mac. Was thinking it would be a couple 1/4 pounders, but is 1/3's

I've been guilty of scarfing down a couple 1/4 Pounders in the past with coupons :)

You can turn them into a huge Big Mac pretty easy anyway.

Have a Publix near us, I'd rather hit their deli than a Subway myself, it is't drive through but about as fast if you don't mind getting out of your car.

So that is a bit disqualified as fast food I suppose.

that's odd. I've had a long-time ban of anything McD's entering my gut for at least 20 years now...but back ~age 16, the double 1/4lb + cheese was like an after-school ritual for me. ...maybe why I always feel like shit to this day. :D

They aren't even in the same league. Jersey Mike's cold cut sandwiches are really good. I love me a spiced ham and cheese from Jersey Mike's. Unfortunately there isn't one near me so it's a rare treat.

Anybody here remembers Kenny Roger's Roasters? Had one right where I grew up and that chicken was so delicious. Made famous by the epic Seinfeld episode. I could eat a whole Kenny Roger's chicken back in my early twenties. Now I couldn't, cause they are gone :(

I remember the difference in flavor and texture of a Kenny Roger's bird vs Boston Market to be substantially in Kenny's favor.

Well the good news is it looks like you still can get Kenny Rogers Roasters chicken, if you travel to Asia.

btw guys, if you like vanilla Tillamook is the fucking shit. The ingredient label reads like Breyers, but it doesn't taste like shit. It actually tastes like real vanilla bean ice cream. For the price this shit is amazing.
