I used to have it pretty bad.I would all of a sudden feel very uneasy like something bad was about to happen and get a really fast heatbeat and basically thought I was having a heart attack it was so intense that I would feel so messed up for about a week after the initial attack.
I ended up in the ER 3 times in two years for it and after the 3rd time when they told me I was fine, I told myself screw this I wont let it happen again, its just all in my head and worrying about it is the worst thing to do.
It hasnt came back in 2 years now.

Unless you have ever experienced anxiety like this,Its something you just cant imagine. You can think your the toughest person in the world but you just have no control over it when it hits you and its a very frightening experience.

Question: Did you find that the anxiety gave you physical effects like sore muscles.. or was it just the fast heart beat?

I find liquor fixes up any anxiety ;)

you raised your post count by one, now please go away

i was being serious, more or less.

anyways. what do you want to hear? yes, drugs help.

A lot of the time I feel drugs are over prescribed for things like this though, as having some anxiety is normal...

anxiety is an everyday part of life. Anxiety disorders aren't. People with anxiety disorders have problems dealing with the normal everyday anxiety. It is nothing to joke about, its a very serious issue.

Yes - but who draws the line between 'normal' and 'disorder' -?
this is the problem with a lot of mental 'disorders', there is sort of a fuzzy line.

everything is a disorder these days

and you can't seriously think that posting a "serious posts only" notice is a good idea on OT

Yes,sore muscles, especially my back and neck.I think its from being so tensed up from it and basically just feeling like you have the flu.

That pretty much decribes what I feel dead on. I hope that I can control it the same way you did

I suffer from a form of contamination OCD, I believe this qualifies as an anxiety disorder.

I can, and I will. Hopefully the Mods will help me out if anyone gets out of line.

Yeah I don't see why you can't have a serious discussion in OT. Anyone who intentionally tries to break it up is just a prick, and nobody wants to be a jerk.

I have it as well, and mild depression. Taking Lexapro right now, and I do feel better, but there is something weird to the way I feel. I can't describe it.

Panic attacks used to come out of nowhere for no reason at all. And my depression would last for several weeks at a time, for no reason at all.

You know what's scary?

Checking yourself into the ER with no health insurance because you think you're having a heart attack when it was only anxiety :(
