Last year was my first year watching 24, and I recorded the first 7 or 8 hours on the DVR before I got around to start watching it. Once I started, I couldn't stop, and watched those episodes in about a week's time. After I was done, I had to start waiting a week like everyone else, and it kind of sucked having to wait 🙂.

yeah it's awesometo have them all lined up so you can watch them whenever you like....but it's also kinda cool waiting to see what next week brings and seeing it at the same time as everyone else 😉

You have more self control than I do. I could never let those episodes sit on my hard drive and not watch them. 😛

I have to admit i don't think i could control myself, especially given how good the first episodes are looking 😎
 
There's still time to fly to Texas and watch the premiere in HD with me, Dug 😉

Looks like many of the characters from Season 4 are returning, at least from what we've seen in trailers...I remember being unsure about seeing so many new people at the beginning of last season, but I think they worked out well...

First of all, to let everyone know, there is a 24 Season 5 Prequel on the net.

I have it, and watched it. I reccomend you do the same. It does *not* begin where Season 5 begins, rather somewhere in between, so it will not ruin anything from Sunday. Just a little bit about how Jack gets brought back, but barely. Doesn't really say much.

The first two/three minutes are from the end of Season 4.

If you can not find it, let me know, I'll happily upload it somehwere.

Also, I have the 24 Music Video of the theme/remix done by Armin Van Buuren. Some high tech dance theme, with a pretty kicka$$ music video. (I mean, it's a DJ at these clubs, mixed in with exciting scenes from all seasons. Good to get you pumped up!)

Let me know if it needs to be uploaded somewhere. (I currently do not have any space to host it for massive distribution.)

I saw the prequel at a friend's house when he got the Season 4 DVD's. You're right, it doesn't tell much of the story, but it's entertaining anyway 🙂

What file size and resolution are these videos? I could possibly host, but I'm afraid of the ATOT effect raping my bandwidth... 😛

If it's the same as last season, it's several months off...I don't think it starts there until a while after the season finishes here...July/August maybe? Ask dug777, he's Australian and he watched Season 4 there this past year 😉
 
Ok, here is my dilemma.


I have a new tv, but its sorta cheap, but decent size (28 inches or so) but its DEFENITLY not HI-DEF...ALSO, no surround sound...... SHOULD i wait til the episode gets released on a torrent and then watch it on my 19 CRT which has logitech z-5500 5.1 surround hooked up????..... what would provide the "optimal 24 viewing experience"..any opinions


EDIT.....i ask because everyone seems to be going crazy over how its hi-def this season.

I'm not too familiar with how the episodes are released as torrents, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's a somewhat low resolution video with plain stereo sound (edit: since HDTV transport streams would be 3-6gb/episode, and something like h.264 wouldn't be that much smaller if you wanted to retain the resolution). I'd just watch the episodes as they air, even if you can't catch it in HD.

(Season 4 was broadcast in HD too, but I saw very few of the episodes in HD at the time since I go to school in the middle of nowhere and didn't have Fox-HD there until very recently 😛)

ACTUALLY, i had class during prison break, so i had to get torrents, and many of them were in EDIT- A fantastic resolution and had 5.1 surround on em. Granted they were over twice teh size as the normal rip but they looked fantastic. OK, now that you jogged my memory on this, and remembering how HIGH quality those prison break torrents were, i think i might go the torrent route (After the first week tho, make sure they get released on a timely manner, hte good torrrents seemed to take a LOT longer to get released).. haha, thanks for jogging my memory synth😛

Yeah, I wouldn't miss the premiere 😉

I'm going to be recording the episodes myself...3-6gb per episode (after cutting commercials), times 24....suddenly my hard drive is starting to look very small 😛
 
BUMP....im so friggin excited for this... MUCH more than i was excited to hear howard stern om sirius (not to take away from that)...what a way to start the new semester of school
