I don't always pick horses to win the Kentucky Derby, but when I do, I prefer to pick Stay Thirsty, my friends

Animal Kingdom really put on the afterburners during the last 300 yards of the race. That was cool to watch!

That was a brutal effort by the crowd. Really, it hurt to listen to it.

Animal Kingdom really put on the afterburners during the last 300 yards of the race. That was cool to watch!

He ran a nice race/finish. Very impressive ride and job by the jockey who was called to ride him because of Albarado's injury a few days prior. First time on dirt for Animal Kingdom. First time for the jockey on the horse, impressive.

Nehro was my horse from the get go after the finish in the AK derby. Like other Derbys, I was real good at picking 2, 3, 4, 5 but not the winner. Cashed some tickets though. Got the exacta and 10 across on Nehro, not enough to pay for all my bets on the race.

There were mint juleps and me and my wife played just about every race from home. She had a oaks/derby double bet with getting the first leg right, just not this guy. Pretty surprising win really based on past performance. It was unusual to see so many outside post positions (>10) finish in the money.

Then again, that's horse racing.

TVG had MAJOR problems and I couldn't bet with them on the derby. Site and betting applet just wouldn't respond, useless. Thank goodness I had accounts with xpressbet and twinsprires.com as a backup. Attendance at this derby set the record at 164 thousand.
