The Office (US)

I watched most of the first season and didn't like it. I mean, some parts I liked but mostly didn't like it. The boss is a complete idiot, i get it! Hardyharhar! Does it get better in the following seasons? Is it possible to not like the first season and like the following few seasons? Seems unlikely, but who knows, maybe it was just a weak first season. Thanks.

I've never liked shows that take the position of a camera crew following around/interviewing people in a hybrid reality/comedy setting. I don't like Parks and Recreation for the same reason.

1st season was,... awkward.

Then, from season 2 to 7, it's pretty good.

I watched the very 1st episode when it came out and didn't touch it again, until I saw the Jim & Pam wedding. It was HILARIOUS. I saw a few of the past episodes (season 2 through 6) and decided to buy the entire series.

The show's premise is that awkward social situations are funny. If you don't find awkward social situations funny, or don't like dry humor, then you probably won't find the show to be funny.

First season is terrible but it gets way better after that. I was warned about the level of suck on the first season so I wasnt worried about it.

The first 1.5 seasons were awful, it was not until they stopped the straight copies of the UK episodes and moved into their own story lines and character development that the show became decent.

I still prefer the UK Office, but the US Office is awesome from season 2.5-4.

Midway through season 6 now. Definitely some good things about the show, but I absolutely hate Michael Scott, he's just a horrible stupid selfish person 😛 - I like Steve Carell, too, just wish someone would beat the character of Michael Scott to death. That might be too harsh for a fictional comedic show, perhaps.

When's a good stopping point? Should I quit watching after season 6?

People still watch it after Michael left?

I used to watch it during dinner every thursday night, but now I don't have the same enthusiasm to watch it as I did now that Micheal Scott is gone. I'll now watch it when I'm super bored :whiste:
