I really didn't know... it's not like every thing was peachy and all worked out before he left. He and Jim didn't even say goodbye. They couldn't do it so played that game that they'd see each other for lunch tomorrow.

I wasn't so sure they'd meet up either. It would have been believable to the whole series if they didn't meet up. If they never got to say goodbye. It would have been sad for sure.

Jim and Michael's goodbye was obviously the best. I think they played it perfectly (the writers and actors). Just well done. Especially when Jim just gave him the nod to leave at 4pm and nobody was the wiser.

I don't understand how people can not like Will Farrell's character, or Farrell at all, and enjoy The Office.

Because of the reasons I already stated. His character just doesn't fit in with the show. He fit's into stupid movies like Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, etc, because they "stupid humor" movies that are written for that type of character in mind. The Office has a much more subtle awkward type of comedy that Ferrel just doesn't fit into.

I scrolled all the way down to avoid spoilers. They should just kill the show without Michael.

You're saying The Office doesn't have "stupid humor" in it? You have watched the show right?

Should I watch the episode prior as well? Is it leading up to it?

I stopped watching awhile ago, but I want to catch this event.

Agreed. Awesome.

It's like Michael saw Jim grow up in The Office, and for Jim to tell Michael at the end that he really was a good boss it was like a son giving his father the respect he didn't show him when he was a young guy who thought he already knew it all.

Or how about when Michael is just about ready to leave and as he's about to get in the elevator he looks back one more time and see all his employees going about their day as per usual, the whole group. It's like he's burning that memory into his brain to take with him

I will still give it a chance. There are some very interesting characters still left who make it worth watching.

no way. I think he is leaving at the perfect time. His character was getting spent IMO. I, for one, welcome our new Boss overlords.

I think it can only get better now. Especially with these awesome cameos coming in,

The UK ending made me cry. Yes, I said it.
This US "transition" didn't do anything for me.

It was a very well done goodbye. Every part of it. Funny. Fitting. Sincere.

Creed with the mug? Brilliant.

For those that don't like Deangelo Williams? You're nuts.

lol, I noticed that too.

Plus, I love Ferrell. Seems however, there are going to be a lot of candidates for the full-time job, including Jim Carey. My money is on Greveous, however.

You mean Gervais?
No... he won't do it. No "star" is going to take the role. It will be Dwight I'm betting.

Sorry, can never remember how to spell his name. I think someone will take it, just can't see the show doing well with Dwight being the main guy. Then again, maybe he will be the boss, but the focus will be spread more amongst the group.

This show has never really gone the conventional route so I'm saying the new boss is Darryl. Hijinks ensue.

That episode was really well done. Was surprised Micheal was smart enough to pull a trick like leave a day early. Surprised Pam and Jim didn't let the others know he left and had them waiting for him the next day tough, kind of a jerk move.

I didn't find it a "jerk move" at all. They respected Michael's wishes. It was his idea to "sneak out" and leave a day early. And they let him have that. I guess if we want to extrapolate, we can think that even Michael knew that if he was faced with a dozen goodbyes at once, a party etc, he wouldn't be able to handle it. He left with his head held high.

Again I think it was impeccably done. Everything that was and wasn't said.

Ferrel's character is just stupid, and obnoxious beyond believability.

Ferrel is a reliable disaster. His shtick got old long, long ago. Will Arnett would be PERFECT for the new boss, though.

What about The Nard-Dawg being in charge?
It would infuriate Dwight beyond anything, not to mention Gabe
They potentially started a sort of build up to it with him saving the sale and Michael giving him the top 10 clients?

I'm just shotgunning now.

Michael may have been a poor manager, socially-incompetent at times, politically incorrect at all times, but one thing he had going for him was his ability to sell. Andy doesn't have that. The fact Michael gave him the top clients was just to reinforce how poor his office management skills were.

But Michael (a great salesman as you pointed out) believed in Andy. And, when pressured (via the sales pitch by Deangelo Williams (could the name be any better?)) Andy came through with shining colors.

One of the best parts of last nights episode when Andy lost the 1st client in like 2 mins. I died laughing.

I mean the day of the party. Instead of waiting in the conference room for however long, they could have just said, " Guys, Micheal isn't coming in today. In fact he took the flight out yesterday. He couldn't stand to say all the goodbyes."

Ah yeah... that way. I gotcha.
remember though Pam is the office bitch now too. Everyone seems to hate her.

Ferrell isn't staying on, and it's been either a poorly kept secret or no secret at all that he wouldn't. They said after last night's episode in the previews, "... and when Deangelo is suddenly unavailable to perform his duties ..." and cut to the people they would be "interviewing" for the position.

I hated the idea of Will Ferrell coming to this show, but I have to say, he kept it under control. For the most part, his usual schtick wasn't apparent. I still wouldn't keep him on it, since his comic personality isn't really right for the show, but for what he was asked to do I found it pretty funny.

Since 9-11, security will not allow you past the security checkpoint without a ticket of your own. No more gate-side good-byes.

Umm... It's Avoca airport near Scranton, Pennsylvania. Their idea of TSA security at a tiny little airport like that is probably two guys and a luggage scanner... the rules are a bit more lax.
