Occupation: Unemployed IT analyst/project leader/team leader/service coordinator.

Income: Severance pay + unemployment pay, so essentially I'm living better now than I ever was.

Dope usage? Yes, as I was "experimenting" with several chemicals during my 16 to 23 year old age range. And, unlike Clinton, I did inhale. ;)

I'm a distribution manager at a large company. Since most manufacturing jobs seem to be leaving the U.S., I hope I've selected the right career. Someone will always have to move the stuff around, no matter where it's made !

I build Concrete buildings from the ground up. I am a foreman at a medium sized construction company. Finishing my MCSE to get out of construction completely. The pay is good and I love my job, but it's getting too hard to get up every morning.

Student, junior, aerospace engineering (... anyone else in aero here?). I'll be out in another year and a half hopefully and will move on to my masters.

Work in the family business, without pay, and commute to school - so all living expenses are paid by the parents (and I do chores as well). Not that bad of a setup, I just pick up money here and there for doing other jobs and whatnot and just add it to my collection in the bank, but my income is officially $0.

Dude, I'm joining the Air Force after my Masters....

Dude, Keep in mind that income includes: base pay, housing pay, rations pay, hazardous duty pay, remote assignment pay along with any other miscellaneous pay amounts that someone in the military is entitled to. Also, keep in mind that Uncle Sam *ownz* you 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. When I was on active duty, I worked for about 2 weeks straight without a day off due to the alerts that we were on. Unfortunately, I only made about $11K per year, but I lived in the dorms. However, the long alerts kept me from spending money.

That amount includes:
Base Pay = $2975.10/mo.
Basic Allowance Housing ~ $850./mo.
Basic Allowance for Subsistence ~ $262./mo.
I would make another $800/mo if I was still attached to a submarine.
