But bush? That's all I saw, but, but, bush.

Here's the thing. It was just fine to bash bush call him an idiot, etc. So that means that same vitriol is just fine against the current administration doing his best to destroy this nation and the American Way.

Fuck Barrack Hussein Obama. Having hatred for that fucker is the most sincere form of patriotism we have, and the majority of the country feels this way with their hatred, disgust and downright anger at the current president.

He is done. No dem wants him on their side, no dem is trumpeting his agenda, he is a toxic liability and they know it. The people of this country flat out reject what he has done and is trying to do, they REJECT the Obama agenda.

Spidey, lets be fair, before he was even elected you were bashing him. You and others like you were coming up with anything you could find the smear him. From birthers, to accusations of being a muslim. All of that started the moment you found out he was campaigning. I somehow doubt you even knew the guy before he started campaigning, and I don't doubt that no matter who the democratic rep was turned out to be, you would still be bashing him.

What I do find funny is the Clinton turn around of people these days. I was in the military at the time and in a shop surrounded by people like you. The bashed Clinton day and night. These boards did the same thing. Now all of a sudden I'm seeing people from the GOP stating, "he was pretty good!" or "one of the best dem presidents!" or "helluva lot better than Obama" or some other similar comments. Do you not see the "ironing" (using meme again) to this at all? Then to top all the off, for the longest time so many extreme right wingers thought Reagan was the greatest president ever, but recently many are starting to change that attitude. Many are stating that perhaps the trickle down economics was a bit too drastic and not the correct way to have gone about it. Many now feel he de-regulated too much in light of our recent economical crisis.

Maybe it is because I judge people on the merits of their actions and not preconceived notions or what others tell me to do.

Big surprise.... this is how fickle the retarded American public is. Their favor is simply a rapidly moving pendulum.

"Times are bad! Who's in office? A Republican? VOTE DEMOCRAT!"
"Times are bad! Who's in office? A Democrat? VOTE REPUBLICAN!"

It's a reflection of people's irrational, knee jerk, simple brains.

Yep, and unfortunately, both of those alternatives suck.

If you need any more indication that he is completely clueless, turn on his speech right now. Teleprompter speech that started with 5 minutes of "It was Bush and the Republicans' fault", followed by, "The Republicans won't let us do anything"

Prove it wasn't Bush and the Republicans fault.

Pretty much. America has ADHD.

Most of you remind me of Paton Oswalt's character in "Big Fan". Except replace the giants with your party of choice. I imagine you sitting in your cubicles furiously scouring the internet for that one new piece of ammo that you can fling at the other side. Maybe you should take a step back, and actually have your own life and try to change things locally. Shouting insults on the internet isn't going to do you any good, no matter the small high you get from the feeling of power of being "right". You have as little to do with the political party you root for and vote for as you do with your favorite sports team, and they care equally as little about you. If you want to be a candidate from either of the Big 2 parties you have to sell out, plain and simple. Whether its the big banks or halliburton or the oil companies, someone has you by the balls.

Sadly we live in a hyper partisan world where compromise is a dirty word and anything falling outside of you rigid small world is seen as evil.

Ron Reagan and Tip O'Neil were across party lines but they would meet up for martini's after work and would vacation together since their wives were pals. We have not seen this in a long time.

Partisanship is only getting worse with the vacuum chambers of Fox News and MSNBC and to a degree meriting a bolgia of hell according to dante in relation to the factless blogs that are passed as facts..

The hate for Obama has been troubling. The resurgence of the southern strategy and the vilification of minorities has created an even more divisive political landscape. It is deeply troubling to see respectable media outlets stooping to these levels to remain viable in the new world order of new media.

I say new world order of new media because it is drastically changing our lives and how politics works. In the past for a politician to get coverage they would have to answer the tough questings. Now with partisan cable networks one can safely stay in their comfort zones being asked only what they want to be asked..

In regards to the hate for the president we should remember that the shills on this forum only represent the rabid minority and the facts of our current economic climate still stand... In a down economy the president takes the brunt of the responsibility. It comes with the job.....

Only time in history where this did not happen was during the great depression. Sadly with the way media works now this cannot happen again.

I do not think this man or any other is without fault. One has to look in the mirror and cast the first stone at himself if they truly want to lay the blame.. Lets look at ourselves first and ask ourselves what are we doing to better the lives of our children and our children's children?

Its time to resurrect the immortal worlds of the only Irish Catholic president....

You're still going to play the race card? A black man is president... I voted for him even though you probably think I'm a racist. You're own partisanship (hilarious to hear you go off about the topic though) is blinding you to the fact that this is not about race.

Assuming the Pubbies take Congress in November, Obama too could be saved from his own liberal agenda. It will be interesting to see which way he jumps, to the center (bashing those rascally evil Republicans whilst taking credit for anything they accomplish) or to the left (using executive power to bypass Congress and implement his agenda.) The only new and different problem external to Obama is the economy. Clinton inherited an economy that was basically sound, whereas Obama inherited an economy that was screwed. Given that so many Americans see the president as a super daddy figure with control over the economy, even if the Pubbies stop the Messiah from screwing up the economy further (and don't screw it up themselves) Obama probably isn't going to have quite the opportunity to triangulate and passively make accomplishments as did Clinton, so his popularity probably can't rebound to the same extent. Or at least, not by November 2012. IF the Pubbies behave themselves, and IF the Messiah behaves himself, and IF the economy improves sufficiently and the Republicans repeat their typical craniorectal inversion and Obama wins a second term, then like Clinton he could be quite popular by 2016. Americans WANT to like this guy, in a way they did not want to like Clinton, if only because he is the first black president. (Unless you think getting a BJ from a big-assed white chick makes one black, in which case black men are suddenly the majority.)

If the Anointed One does attempt to use the executive branch to implement his agenda, then the Republicans won't be able to do much for the economy even if they behave themselves, because businesses will still have the fear of Walks-On-Water "fundamentally transforming" our country into something within which they cannot survive. This just goes to show that when someone promises to "fundamentally transform" the nation you'd better get a damned good idea of how they envision the country when they are done.

Actually I do not think your racist at all info. I actually respect many of the arguments you have made on the forum and like the devil's advocate style which I employ myself on many an occasion.

The meat of my argument still stands though. Can you with a straight face tell me the southern strategy is not being used right now?

Can you argue that xenophobia is not an issue with mainstream conservatives like Newt, Hannity, Bachman, Romney and their ilk sharing a stage with far far right people like Bryan fisher
http://www.salon.com/news/politics/.../2010/09/10/bryan_fischer_values_voter_summit

Can you tell me that there isnt an undercurrent of hate boiling over into the streets and media thats being fueled by fear mongering?

Yes in an oversimplified view you can denounce the "Race" card when it comes to the Obama hate on this forum. Can you at least admit that the current anti-obama hysteria has deep undercurrents that parralel the hateful past and present of those that do not look like themselves...

In down economies and bad times scapegoats are too easy for the ignorant... Right now its obama, muslims, immigrants, and elitists....
