The non voters will vote this year

and they will vote for Kerry. There's a lot of new voters that haven't vote before due to laziness and not really caring until now... and that's because they have some issue with the current president and the way that this country has been going....

Republicans hate it when people vote, they win when apathy is highest.

We hate when democrats vote more than once, offer crack for votes, and then claim the Republicans are trying to get people not to vote when they call out the fraud.

well said.

Oh, and btw, the Republican base will be out like no other this year.

This has been discussed before but it's worth another look. 🙂

Republicans hate it when minorities and the poor vote. They believe that they should rule above all else and that said people exist only for their exploit. They realize Democratic voter fraud is extremely isolated and rare and that they use said isolated incidents to hide their extreme bigotry and thirst for power of those less fortunate.

They might...but it depends what's on MTV that afternoon

I'd love for young people to vote (also minorities...since I'm both) but I've lost faith in it happening

Republicans typically have high turnout in most elections; Democrats slack with their vote much more often.

That's why every source I've read says the same thing: low turnout favors the right, high turnout favors the left.

The local news in Oregon tonight said turnout in the state could be as high as 85% this year. We already set a new record for registered voters.

The non-voters in previous elections will be a huge factor this year; nobody knows for sure, but I expect the country to be stunned on November 2nd (and not in a favorable way for the Bush camp).

Too bad the popular vote is just a straw poll.

It would be funny if Bush lost the EC but won the popular vote.
I wonder if the left would still complain about the electoral college being a sham if that happened....

I was sorta angry when it happened to Gore in 2000...this time, I don't think I'd really care though. As long as my candidate gets elected 😉

Bush doesn't have a chance anymore. Now that Kerry has pulled into a tie, the Republican base is simply not large enough to win this election. Kerry not only has his Democratic base locked up, but he has now convinced a lot of leaners to his side. Plus, almost no polls take into account the young voters and those with cellphones only. Even pollsters are admitting that if Bush and Kerry are tied going into election day, Kerry will win. Bush needs a 4 or 5 pt. lead to beat Kerry.

Thanks for the insight, Miss Cleo. I wish I were as sure about the future as yourself based on some meaningless statistics.

Nice Troll, Crimson, with excellent false attribution and distortion. Bravo!

Anticipatory snivelling? It seems obvious that the Right will need some excuse beyond their boy being a total screw-up when big turnout gives him a big thumping...

BTW, ntdz, the Republican base is only ~30% of registered voters, probably less after this surge in registrations. All that'll get you is the consolation prize. Repubs win when they can campaign to the middle successfully- How is that accomplished, considering the Bush record of far right zealotry?

Thanks to an activist judge here in Michigan Unless the state court of appeals overturns it before election day all those nonvoters who are voting this time will get the opportunity to make up for some of the votes they missed in the past by casting provisional ballots for federal candidates at any polling place they walk into in addition to voting in their own precinct. Can't wait to hear the stories about the bums voting 4 or 5 times for a few pack of smokes.

see sig.

Hey NesuD, do you know what ever happened with that Michigan absentee ballot that had the arrows offset?

From NesuD-

Can't wait to hear the stories about the bums voting 4 or 5 times for a few pack of smokes.

I'm sure they'll be entertaining, too, and convincing, having been honed in the bowels of some rightwing thinktanks well in advance of any alleged irregularities...

In the event of a close election, such repeat voting is discarded during a recount, anyway, any perps subject to fines and imprisonment...

What % of the voting population would you think are transients, down and outers, "bums" as you refer to them?

That's probably not a fair question, really, since their ranks have swollen considerably under Bushonomics, and nobody really wants to know, at least not any compassionate conservatives, anyway.

I'm still not voting. Didn't vote last time and not voting this time. Pretty pointless with the current system.

And the following aren't trolls:

Republicans hate it when people vote, they win when apathy is highest.

You criticize MY comments, but completely ignore comments of your own side which say Republicans hate when poor people and minorities vote... you sir, are a hypocrite. I was being sarcastic based on the idiotic statements the libs on this board accusing Republicans of hating poor and minority people..

The hate level of the libs on this forum knows no boundaries or shame.. anything to win.
