Nope.

This one's about a book dealer who tracks down the three remaining copies of this book which is basicly Satan's bible. Its really nice.

Very deep psycological plot, because of this you will find it went totally over most peoples heads and because of that they hated it.

I saw that movie... was sort of high at the time... enjoyable! That ending was pretty messed up (you know what I mean... the "mating" scene). LOL

Its the one where they have a million dollar book and he smokes over it, drinks wine over it and throws it down on the counter like a schoolboook.

Pretty realistic.

i thought it was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. the ending was horrible, and the rest of the movie was boring.

I didn't really understand the ending...

sorry if that makes me dumb... I liked and understood Memento, which I think is a far better and "deeper" movie.

Very good movie, at first I hated it, but then I understood it.

The whole movie you are like WTF is that girl, what is she? If she is a demon then why does she help him?

The girl is a succubus, that is why she helps him.

rofl 😀

I have this movie on video but haven't watched it since I saw it in the theater. I went with a group of friends who knew this guy who was a manager at Loews and would let us in the theater after closing at like 1am.

<< I love that movie, but I don't know why. >>

lol me too! I should really watch it again. I like a lot Johnny Depp's movies.

*waves to Marty who was so cool at the meet* 🙂

The Ninth Gate

I like Depp. I like dark movies. I like movies that make me think.

I thoroughly enjoyed "The Ninth Gate". Wojciech Kilar did an amazing job with the music. The plot was interesting.

Jhill, your comments:

are fairly sarcastic and contain very little thought. The character that Depp plays is precisely that type of person. He has little regard for anything or anyone other than himself. The beginning of the movie sets up this fact, when he is buying books from a widow (for a penny on the dollar). But enough of schooling you on a movie that you seem to have misunderstood.

"The Girl" is an interesting character in the movie, indeed! My take on her? She is a demon attracted to Corso for his "character" and knowledge of the book. She is trying to pull him to the Devil and make sure that Corso puts the apporpriate pieces together so that he may make the journey.

I'd give it 5/5 stars

or 96/100 (it could have been a slightly longer and more thorough towards the end)

Great movie. I own it for the music, scenery/cinematography and story alone. Depp does a good job, as usual.
