Is going downhill with all this shit that has come up out of nowhere...What the fuck happened to JUST watching a football game and enjoying yourself? Ridiculous...

Fire Roger Goodell already...

I watch football games and enjoy myself all the times, maybe you're doing it wrong?

Unless you have specifics, I'm just gonna assume that you're whiny.

I always enjoy the games, but now there is all these stupid rules...Uhhh...don't hit him too hard, you might hurt him!

The referees this year are doing a horrible job more than ever.

Freaking Brett Favre is all over everything, Randy Moss equally.

There is always some stupid shit happening, gets very annoying.

There have ALWAYS been shits happening, where have you been?

So what if Farve and Moss are individuals, they don't represent the NFL, they are themselves. Refs have always been iffy, they were never perfect so we now have slo-mo HD cams to curb their stupidity. (I never said eliminate).

The NFL? Don't talk to me about the NFL. The NFL?

I do agree that there are no exceptionally good opponents for the Patriots this year, however.

All these stupid rules, with the hits and stuff...It's football, the players aren't stupid, they know what they are getting into. But all this, oh, oh, you hit him! give me some money! or suspended for 5 games! oh! oh! You touched his ass, 100,000 please!

Yes it's football, and I like to keep it that way. Since the advent of better protective gears, it allows for people to hit and be hit harder. I don't like to see anyone hurt, and yes hard tackling is fine, but if you're gonna do it intentionally to hurt someone then that's just vindictive.

If they keep hurting players and themselves, the game itself will be come shit, because NOBODY good will be left playing. If you want to see people physically hurt each others, there's a whole other sport for that.

None of the rules that I have seen are as dramatic as you make it out to be. Even the players and coaches disagree with you, so stfu kindly?

Why this thread now? All the fine talk was 2-3 weeks ago.

The week of NFL after all the fines was great, still big hits, with no players leaving on stretchers because some dick decided to use his helmet as a weapon. I haven't watched any NFL games and thought "gee, I wish more players got lay'd out and concussed".

Come to think of it, not even sure if the OP is talking about the same thing, his post doesn't really say anything :p

There's a ridiculous flag/fine once in a while but I don't think the game has been diminished in anyway.

I was talking to my good buddies about this tonight. this week, alone, has made the NFL (more than usual, mind you), a drama fest filled with bitches and bullshit.

I honestly hope there's a strike. I hope 1+ seasons are cancelled. fuck all these pre-madonnas, all these owners and worthless organizations...just let it die.

I do agree that there are no exceptionally good opponents for the Patriots this year, however.

At the beginning of the season, the tough games were looking to be against the Jets, Ravens, Chargers and the Vikings, and they managed to come out with just one loss. They still have the Steelers, Colts and the Packers. Prior to this season starting, their schedule looked horrendously difficult. Who knew so many top-notch teams would founder a bit? I still think the worst is yet to come, the three teams I mentioned above are still looking strong, especially the Steelers.

James Harrison is a moron and deserves all the fines that he gets.

You wanna give him a late hit penalty for that, fine, but to fine him and call that a vicious hit is borderline retarded. A 4 year old could have taken that hit.

You could see harrison look up and realize that the ball was already gone, then ease up on his tackle. If anything brees should get a fine for diving.

And polomolu has a good point. You never see offensive players get fined for lowering their heads. More often than not it is the offensive player who causes the helmet to helmet collision by lower their head.

Goodell needs to be fired.

yea no clue wtf OP is talking about, this has been one of the best NFL seasons so far with so much parity.

i do agree these fines for hits and making them get players ejected is stupid however.

but IMO the worst changes have come to the NBA. they have so many stupid rules now to favor the offense - defense 3 seconds, illegal defense, clear path fouls ... all of those are fucking ridiculous (granted illegal defense has been there forever, but then they allowed zone, and now they have the rule back).

the worst now however is that basically any conversation with the ref after a foul call results in a technical foul ... so dumb.

less commercials would make watching football infinity more enjoyable

personally i love hte commercials because i flip to the redzone channel at that point to see what is going on in games that aren't airing where i live.

If you don't like it, find another sport.

I delegate Saturday to watching college football and sunday to TV. College football is WAYYYY more interesting in my opinion.
