Perhaps Quake Live but that's hardly a new game, simply a port of Quake 3. Huxley is supposed to retain the UT gameplay and bring it to an MMO, but it's been vaporware for a while.

At this point the fastest games are going to be things like COD4 and its knockoffs.

UT3 is probably going to be the last arena shooter. Really I think the only hope is that Epic will develop another Unreal game because no one else is going even near the arena shooter style. ID is working on Rage and then Doom 4 so they already have their hands full.

i've given up on waiting for the next big arena shooter. i thought it was gonna be UT3. too bad it's a stinker. Quake live is the only thing going for the genre right now. games like halo 3 cod4 and battlefields are pretty lame compared to an arena shooter and doesn't even come close.

If they would have just fixed the bugs, and the whole consolized menu system, UT3 would have been the next UT99. Shame it had to fail, I love the graphics...
