I'm thinking about,... yes biting the bullet... and buying an iPod 30 Gig Video so that I can record lectures and listen to music....

I won't have the need for one until next year so I'm wondering if anyone knows about what the next generation iPods will offer.

I've heard rumors of them moving to high capacity flash based disks.

It's funny that if you go into the diagnositics page of a nano, you see the option about playback and recording. Mind you without a microphone hookup, all you can record is silence.

Yup...like the Iphone, minus the phone and the address book stuff. It will have a version of Itunes that will visually be a port of the computer program

I actually wouldn't be surprised if they move to all flash instead of HDDs with the onset of 32/64GB SSD drives. I guess I really wouldn't be surprised if they went either way, where they offered a larger HDD drive and focused on video. Or maybe they're working on a deal for a hybrid drive. The latter would be the best I think as you'd have the large capacities for not that much cost but get a benefit of the larger cache capability. Maybe some sort of their own hybrid where they pair the HDDs and the flash chips (they've bought a ton of flash chips).

Well I pretty much covered just about everything they might do for storage.

They're gonna put some wireless sharing features, and everyone will praise it's originality.

Not just that. It'll be smooth and shiny and trendy...a few months later, it'll come out in black and pink
